Just came back and can confirm they are not giving out any more evening vouchers. I asked 3 different FD person and they all said is in the past. Construction is still going on but they did a good job blocking off the breakfast area. Nothing changes on the buffet except for 2 dishes (an egg dish and pancake/French toast). I must say the breakfast staff was very helpful. One of the better restaurant staff at a Hyatt. You can tell they worked together for years.

One funny thing I saw on their hotel TV channel was a Executive Lounge scene. They forgot to edit it out. It did look nice and is ashamed it might never be open again.

Was a respectable lounge with typically kind good service and nice enough offerings
but they wouldn’t let globes eat in the restaurant for breakfast
Now the club is closed and you have to eat in the restaurant
Funny how that works! 🙄

Had a one night stay. There is construction in the lobby and about half of it is shut off. The bar is still there, but the breakfast area has been moved and squeezed into a much smaller space, as has the market (which is now in a close of a room). The breakfast buffet has been reduced and I found it pretty sad in terms of both quality and selection.

Booked a 1 Bedroom King Suite on points. It was a connecting king room attached to a living/dining space. Not impressed at all. On the positive side, while we couldn't connect to wifi using room number, when I called to complain they gave me an access code and the wifi was very fast (unlike last time I was here). Service overall was pretty poor, particularly at check-in. I really prefer the Sheraton but the free parking on award stays is a nice perk.

I’ve been moving more of my LAX stays to the Sheraton. I’ve had my share of issues there as well, but I noticed they have on average cheaper rates, and upgrade rate to a suite is pretty decent.

Upgrades here have fallen off dramatically in recent years, and rooms are starting to look really worn.

Little to add to many good, recent reviews. Breakfast is pretty tough: the queue was seldom shorter than ten people between 7:20AM and 8:45AM. Everyone has a voucher (free), and I regrettably accepted a kiddie table (low and unstable) in the traffic flow. At first I thought it odd that the three hot dishes (meat and eggs of some sort) were not covered, but I quickly realized that all were emptied before they could cool, often by people carrying/filling two large plates.

Globalists apparently get two well drinks, beers,or wine, 5:00-7:00PM, though I don't drink and, therefore, cannot confirm.

Are the beds here at least comfortable? I need an overnight hotel at LAX next year and all options seem pretty "meh" with this one being no exception.

Despite some negatives here since the pandemic more or less has moved on
A closed Regency Club ,aging rooms (I’ve seen far worse)
Suites and rooms still fair enough. They did a nice remodel years ago
The positives are good bed medium plush a solid breakfast (though better when first few years they opened) and a mangement culture of caring

I have family on a guest of honor coming to meet me in Australia this week
taking a late flight and as a courtesy
they extended late check out past 4 PM for their late night departure
That kind of extended kindness and generosity gains the hotel my loyalty based on my past relationship which was already good making it my hotel of choice when staying @ LAX
With some rare exceptions I will also go Sheraton Gateway which has very plush beds and typically lower pricing
Historically my upgrade ratio has been excellent as a GLOB @ HR LAX

Is the walk from TBIT to the hotel a reasonable one late at night, say around 11pm? Or is it what some would consider 'sketchy'?

Not sketchy and you will likely be walking with other travelers and airline and airport employees. There are a number of reports describing the walk in this thread. Also see:

Stayed in their one bedroom king suite:

Mediocre stay at an older hotel; nothing good, nothing bad.

shuttle: easy to get on.

check in: globalist recognized and given two waters.

room: still in decent shape, water pressure Abit weak.

gym: abit old, and getting the electronic door lock to work will be your biggest work out.

Dinner: typical bar food of chain hotels.

Will stay again for overnight redeyes. Prefer the Shay if your time permits, but the Shay has been priced in a more than expected price range.

Happy hour coupons

Curious if you were given coupons for nibbles etc for happy hour upon arrival, if you are globalist. Have stayed here multiple times when doing late arrival next day connections through LAX. Usually arriving later than when kitchen closed (though bar still serving). Always made use of coupons for takeaway items.

I've never received anything like that. Check-in experience here has been consistently sub-par for me. Here are your keys (or last time, "key" singular), now go away.

On my stays in Jan 2023 and May 2023 I received Globalist coupons, but just for a free drink. It was wine, beer or, IIRC a certain selection of drinks. I think it was limited to an amount of $. we were above and said we'll pay the difference when ordering... but at the end all was waived. Dunno how that is handled nowadays.

I asked FD several times, no more coupons for evening snacks. FD said they've discontinued it. I never got one in 2023 but others have.
