Hey-

Has anyone tried booking an LV MGM property stay via Hyatt.com? Apologies if I'm missing something, but I thought the ability to do so was part of this new partnership.

I've checked random dates over the next few months (staring on and after June 20) and the only property that comes up is the Hyatt Place LV.

Hmmmm.

I read the announcement as the partnership doesn't officially start until June 20th, and thus, you wouldn't be able to book rooms through Hyatt until then. Maybe IT still has to update the site or calling reservations could work?

Nonetheless, you should be able to book directly through the hotel's website, and simply give your Gold Passport # at check-in and will receive the appropriate stay credit/points.

I hope so. I just booked a MGM stay and the reservation phone people have no idea what to do with a Hyatt number. I'm going to be sure to give them the Hyatt card and ask for a folio printout the next morning to be sure that the Hyatt number is printed. I', sure that there will be IT/training problems as this rolls out.

I wouldn't count on the Hyatt number appearing on the folio. But make sure you hang on to the folio until the stay posts to your Hyatt account for verification purposes.

I'm also wondering the eligibility of stays booked through channels other than the hotel directly (and perhaps Hyatt also).

Love this! Hopefully the Hyatt/mLife partnership will be better than The Cosmopolitan/Marriott partnership as far as taking care of elite members. The Cosmopolitan/Marriott Rewards partnership is kind of a joke. Marriott Gold got me nothing but free internet at The Cosmopolitan...and they even tried to charge me for it when checking out. I had to say something and the agent had to check with her manager. She had no clue.

I likr ehat I see do far as I enjoy MGM Grand.

I was about to move stays in LV to the Trop for Hilton, but was not liking the mixed reviews from DIA members.

This will most likely seal the deal for me.
I just tried out the Trop. I'm Gold with Hilton but they didn't have upgrades available. Rooms were nice but the casino is too small in my opinion. Also, I didn't love the pool. Mirage properties have better pools for sure.

Love this partnership!

Then again the Trop is a much cheaper property than the Mirage.

Maybe this program cancels out the "huge devaluation" for those in the US when Hyatt reflagged all those properties in France?? How Eurocentric!....and don't even get me started about the Andaz in Amsterdam

These rants are ridiculous and not productive at all.

I happen to like the mix of location, hotel price, and amenities at NYNY, so this makes me very happy. I'm not a frequent visitor to Vegas, but I went more frequently when SPG was running Planet Hollywood and would take care of me room-wise as a Platinum.

Right now, however, airfares to Vegas are going to have to come down substantially for me to have a really significant long-term benefit.

.
My concern comes from number 4 on the mgm/hyatt partnership faq:

How do I earn Hyatt Gold Passport points at participating M life resorts?
To earn Hyatt Gold Passport points at participating M life resorts, you must:
1. Be a member of both Hyatt Gold Passport and M life
2. Notify the Front Desk agent at check-in that you would like to earn Hyatt Gold Passport
points and ensure that both your M life and Hyatt Gold Passport member numbers are
on your reservation and final hotel folio
You may earn Hyatt Gold Passport points at participating M life resorts only on the M life- Eligible Spend on your final hotel folio.

As to the booking question, #6 on the faq says hyatt.com and hyatt phone bookings are ok but are unclear about amex fhr

What is considered an M life-Eligible Stay at the participating M life resorts?
An M life-Eligible Stay is:
1. Any stay where payment is made directly to a participating MGM Resorts International
property; OR
2. Bookings made through Hyatt.com; OR
3. Bookings made through a Hyatt Global Contact Center.
Reservations made through third party on-line sites and services (such as Expedia, Priceline or hotels.com), M life resort complimentary room stays, master account group bookings , stays of 15 or more nights, and Hyatt Gold Passport free night award stays are not M life-Eligible Stays.

Thanks for pointing out the requirement to join M-Life program in order to get credit for the stay - I would have missed that requirement and been very disappointed after my next stay!

Lots of nice properties in the MGM group in Vegas, this is a very nice change for folks who need to go to Vegas conventions once or twice a year, and even bigger for people who get there more often,

As I read - just not yet.

And thank you, Peter Silberman @116. I read something in one of the blogs to the effect that membership in both is required. Re-checked the t&c, but didn't see this. (Didn't think to check the FAQ, as I should have.) It would be nice if they would bring it forward to the t&c.

Actually, is it important to enforcement or in potential disputes if it's only in the FAQ? Perhaps the sages here have the experience to know the answer.
