I saw that too... and was a bit surprised that they use 1pm on weekdays. Most places use 2 or 3pm.
This is where the Diamond late check-out might be a bit of a problem. Although I'm not really sure how many actually use that with any regularity. I know I hardly use it myself, bit I do appreciate it on some occasions.

Staying here at the moment in a park suite (DSU)
Great hotel and we don't mind the walk from Shinjuku station either.
However, can't say that I'm overly impressed with management. We had to wait until 3:30pm to check into our room (1pm is check-in and it's horrible waiting around after long flight). When we got into the room it STANK of cigarette smoke and the person who escorted us to our room agreed (we requested a non-smoking room, which apparently it is, but whoever stayed in here last was chain smoking).
They came and sprayed the room but the smell is still very strong. I then had them bring in an ioniser which made it better for a couple of hours but the smell is still very strong and you notice it particularly when re-entering the room. They left the spray so I go around every so often spraying the room.
I expressed my dissatisfaction with the late check-in and the smokey room issue a couple of times but haven't heard anything from management or any token of appreciation for the inconvenience. Understand they are at capacity at the moment, but other hotels in this calibre would have handled this better.
FYI - I've never complained about a smokey room in my hundreds of nights of travel. So I'm definitely not a serial complainer or nit picker.

Just an FYI/heads up in case anyone wants to use their humidifier.

A lot of the time I can't figure out the Japanese on the controls and like every other appliance in Japan, there are way more controls than seem to be necessary.

Hi all,
My wife and I have an award stay (current rates) at the PHT for 5 nights in December. It will be my first time in Tokyo and her second. I do have Diamond status.
We're fans of Andaz and were thinking about switching either entirely or partially over to the Andaz Tokyo. I know nobody's reported on this property yet, but what are the thoughts of the PHT 'regulars' on the Andaz?
