Airport Transportation
The following thread and its wiki provide all the information one needs to know about taking a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport: Catching a Taxi at BKK and general Thailand taxi discussion [SEE WIKI FIRST] The wiki discusses the breakdown of taxi fares from the airport to central Bangkok where Grand Hyatt Erawan is located, and addresses the possibility of being slightly overcharged by a taxi driver.
Alternatively, Grand Hyatt Erawan offers airport transfers in its own fleet of silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-class sedans. The prices of these service are S-Class THB 3,300 (net) per one way transfer (per post 1976) and E-Class THB 2,500 (per post 1975) to or from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Guests using this service will be greeted by a representative at the airport, assisted with their luggage, and escorted to the waiting car.
For an additional charge, the hotel can also arrange "Fast Track" (VIP lane) immigration clearance, as well as the option of being met at one's arrival gate by a buggy and escorted through Fast Track immigration. This service is available for THB 1,600+ 7% vat per person, or THB 2,400+ 7% vat per person to include Golf Cart and porter services.
AOT (and perhaps other companies) also provide transfers from and to the airport. Various vehicle types are available at different price points: Camry (THB 1,200 one way), Mercedes E-Class (THB 2,400 one way).
I always use http://www.limousine.in.th for my car needs in BKK incl airport transfers. 1050 THB from BKK to the city, 900 THB city to BKK (incl tolls).
UBER no longer operates in Thailand. Instead, use GRAB. Similar to UBER, prices will vary. On my trip, I was able to get a GRAB for 364 THB from BKK.
Taxi should run between 400-500 THB. If going from the hotel to BKK, the hotel will quote 500 THB. I had to wait for a few taxi's as the first two didn't want to do unless I paid 750 THB.

Has anyone taken the shuttle from Hua Hin back to the GH when not staying at the Hyatt Hua Hin? I realize emailing is probably easier but figured I'd see if others had done it before wasting my time if it was a non-starter.
We're staying at Centara in Hua Hin but then heading back to BKK and the GH and the shuttle seems to be the cheapest reasonable option (Mr. Eak was suggested in other threads but no response from him as of yet).

I've taken the WGS shuttle to the Sheraton HH when staying at the WGS but staying at the Hyatt HH. I then paid a bit more for a run down to the Hyatt.

I've just deleted a post that is basically a discussion of moderation. Just because posts are moved to another forum where the subject is already discussed doesn't mean it shouldn't be moved there - it then is up to that forum's mod to merge the threads. AFAIK, this situation is not directly tied to the Hyatt but happened at the intersection a few 100 feet from the property - we hope that the employees and guests of the property are all safe.

Near is relative, the IC BKK is only a few 100 feet further from the intersection. Specific information or questions about the hotel property is fine but general discussions about the explosion us not appropriate for this thread.

Posting this here as it does relate to the GH and anyone potentially staying here right now that might see it.
Saw this posted on twitter, appears to show windows blown out in a room facing the street. Anyone there that can confirm anything?

I think that is the Tea Rooms in the GH Hotel Building.
I would also like to hear from anyone there at the moment (although i understand they have more important things to deal with ).
I am on the brink of canceling our trip for next week although i have paid in advance and dont know what the policy will be for refunding our 1 week stay.

I didnt know the JW Marriott and GH were owned by the same people.
We are only going to BKK because we love the GH especially the staff there. After saying that I have great concerns about exposing my family for what is a leisure trip .
I really dont know what to do and I am stuck trying to make a decision while having great concern about those who are at the GH now and also the wonderful staff.

I don't see any reason not to stay at the GH Erawan. There is no indication that this is more than a single isolated incident. We have no reason to believe that this specific location will be targeted again. If tomorrow and the next day we see more attacks, it may be time to reconsider. But for now? If people were will I g to stay there knowing that during NYE a few years ago there were bombs across the street at Central World and people killed at the Temple down the road during the red shirt crackdown, you should be fine to stay at the GH Erawam now. It isn't clear that the area is any less safe than it was 2 days ago.

I agree with you about the staff. It's what makes this hotel one of my favorite properties.
The JW is pretty nice too. It's a little further away from CTW/Paragon, etc. but it was fine.
Having been through the red shirt occupation in Chidlom, it was a little inconvenient....a different experience.

Terrorists will move on to their next target. Grand Hyatt Erawan may well be the safest place in BKK now. I won't worry it.
