BTW, I booked the arrival service directly through BFS. Thanks for the tip, m0hamed!
Welcome. If you want to beat the outrageous limo cost but want Meet & Assist and a limo just book BFS and tell them you want an AOT limousine. They will take you there in the luggage hall. I've never been able to get the AOT website to book online. It pays to book your return at the same time.

Correct. You cannot get the discount price for the return anywhere except in person at the airport.

According to the last TA review, staff are advising guests to switch the AC to manual so it will stay on https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Hotel...k-Bangkok.html

That's a plus for the property. No 5* hotel should be limiting AC .

An exceptional stay

Park Hyatt Bangkok

88 (Central Embassy), Wireless Road Lumpini, Bangkok  TH

A great stay, but needs improvement (18 Photos)

Park Hyatt Bangkok

I had very low expectations for this stay given the negative reviews here, but the PH BKK very much impressed me in some areas but not in others.

I had reached out in advance and the hotel honoured an upgrade to a Corner Deluxe Room. Was pleased with this as they were at 100% last night.

We booked the hotel limo and were in the 7 series with wifi which makes the communte much more platable. We did not use the hotels Meet & Assist as we were flying Thai First with escort service who delivered us to the PH representative at the airport.

Check In

The airport host photographed our passports and we were met at the entrance and whisked straight to the room for private in room check in. Given we were arriving at 1:30AM on our local time and hadn't slept this was much appreciated.

Room

As others have stated the rooms do feel small. I suspect the measurements include the bathroom. I can not imagine what a standard room is like.

Like the entire property, the rooms are ultra modern but with nods to Thai tradition and culture. I think they have executed this perfectly.

We were on the 20th floor and could hear traffic and the BTS. I don't understand how the windows aren't double glazed. This is going to be a dealbreaker until the top floors open. I knew to set the air con to manual and it did not shut off.

The host indicated that only rooms up to level 20 were open for sale.

The TV has mirroring options for devices include Android and Airplay. Saves guests packing an Apple TV or Chromecast and works very well.

Service

From the private in room to check in to any time we interacted with staff they all went above and beyond. Like most Hyatts I suspect staff were told who we were (all VIPs and Diamonds are on the VIP list and shown photos of guests). I noted glances of staff who would walk past and clearly doing a double take.

We took the 7 series back to the airport and were greeted by the same hotel representative who took us to TG check in and walked us to security.

Dining

There were no games at breakfast. We were offered the full menu so we grabbed items from the buffet and ordered eggs benedict. The food was of good quality.

Because we were checking out the next day prior to the Social hour, the host who checked us in offered complimentary afternoon tea which was an exceptional assortments of savoury sandwhiches and desserts. I was very impressed with the proactive switch. The high tea was spectacular and quite dramatic in its presentation (I won't go into more detail to keep it a surprise for those that partake).

Overall

Overall this is a solid property. While it doesn't feel as luxurious as the St Regis it is a solid contender. I like the property for the beauty of the modern design and the art throughout.

Given they are full on many nights it appears it is already a popular hotel.

The only negatives are the pool is quite small, but there are lots of cabanas for guests. It is odd to be eating afternoon tea with half naked men walking past the window. They definitely need to find a solution to the noise issue, but I imagine on much higher floors it wouldn't be a problem. Until then we will stay at the StR.

A great stay, but needs improvement

Construction will be completed by December.

I was given a tour of the Presidential Suite, Ambassador Suite and the Diamond Suites. I was underwhelmed by the Presidential Suite, liked the Ambassador Suite and would happily accept upgrade to the Diplomat ones ;-)
