Surely you're not tipping 10% in the U.S.? Are you referring to a particular country?

Yes, United States of America. I see no reason to tip more.

But FT is full of threads like these... no reason to wind the whole thing up again.

Both Sacramento and Santa Clara have the tip included in the bill at the table automatically.
Nothing ever shows up on my bills at checkout.

I just noticed the same thing. I was expecting to see a charge for Tip from breakfast, but none appeared. This was at the HR Huntington Beach. I quite enjoy this property, and was pleasantly surprised. Just another reason to stay here again.

I strongly advise you never to eat at the same restaurant twice.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.0.4; en-us; DROID RAZR 4G Build/6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-31) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30)

I am pretty sure the terms and conditions explicitly state the tip is included.

We covered that in post #6 of this thread over 18 months ago.

You've clearly not worked in the service industry. 10% is embarrassingly low.

Clearly you must need the money more than the person making $2/hr plus tips.

Edit: you should watch the scene from Resevoir Dogs. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=Z-qV9...%3DZ-qV9wVGb38

Ok this is an issue that well never get consensus on - make comments on the issue and not on other members.

I asked the question of my server at the HR Orange County and they said that they do get a tip from each Diamond breakfast. However, it may not be 15%. I usually write "Diamond Breakfast" in the tip line. It may make me look smug, but I don't think I should have to provide an extra tip for something that is supposedly already covered.

The post you quoted was over a year old, and the poster's last activity on Flyertalk was 11 months ago. Probably not going to see your words of wisdom.
