Can I pull this off? Two names, same reservation?
I am scheduled to stay with a co-worker, in two weeks at a Hyatt.
I can't make it now. I have status with Hyatt. Can I stay on the reservation, have him check in with his card and I still earn my points? Or do I need to change reservation to his name?

Have you added his name to your reservation? If so, then he can check in. If not, then he won't be able to.

Add his name to the reservation and he can check in; but, if you never show, you will NOT get the points.
Also, keep in mind that if he swipes his CC at check in, you must have the front desk change the method of payment to YOUR CC when you arrive. Unless the payment comes from a CC in YOUR name, you CANNOT earn points.

I've never had this happen to me when someone else is paying. I've also used Costco certs to pay for others and they received the points without issue, even though no charges went to anyones credit card.

For some employees granted a per diem travel allowance regardless of actual expense, submission of itemized receipts in their name aren't always required. And for those employees who share rooms due to company policy/practice, the folio with one name on it will be rather standard.

Neither of the above paragraphs necessarily holds to be true in practice.
