I think this was "a deal" for only about 5% of possible bookings. Weird anomalies like Disney not being excluded, or a good foreign hotel in a weak currency nation participating. That said, once this made it to the various deal websites, I'm sure there were thousands of people who thought they were getting "a deal" (half-off!) when in fact they could have stayed in a better hotel for less money by using other well-worn booking techniques.
Personally, I ran more than 20 searches for future travel both domestic and foreign that I have planned and found absolutely nothing remotely "good." Had it been $100 off $100 again, I could have booked something.

So pls, I love u, but it's unfair (to this deal) to be knocking $50 coupon down - if u didn't follow the refe/link stacks in both cashback (up to $100 reward) and Orb rew ($25 reward)
The only reason I'm beating the dead horse is because this will be happening many times: always try to stack refe/links with new great offers! We have to figure out ways (to make cashback sites payout in the aftermath)

Your odds of finding a "promo eligible" hotel you'd be willing to stay in in the USA are bad (particularly around the advantageous $100 mark). Overseas, they're a little better, but it's still generally slim pickings. But somebody is going to get a good deal somewhere.

1. Both Visacheckout and Masterpass have already done $100 off $100. Wishing on another one is wishful, and will not help get any deal
