List of current discounts on the Airport Express

Free travel for children (aged 3-11) and half-price travel for seniors (aged 65+)

From 16 December 2022 to 29 January 2023, Child Octopus card holders enjoy free journeys, while Elder Octopus / JoyYou Card holders enjoy a 50% discount on the Octopus fare. Details available on the MTR website.

Up to 40% off single and return tickets

When purchased in advance online at kkday (https://www.kkday.com/en/product/2425) and you will get a e-redemption voucher QR Code 1-2 hours later, or...
When purchased online from Klook (https://www.klook.com/activity/71-ai...ess-hong-kong/). After payment, you will immediately receive a confirmation email and e-redemption voucher (which is valid for 1 month from the order date), and can use it immediately (as of May 2019)
Hong Kong, Kowloon and Tsing Yi station tickets are available at a discount of around 40% off.

Alternatively, if you pay with an HSBC credit card and the total order amount is at least USD50, you will receive an additional USD5 discount by entering the promo code HSBC18US5 (first order only). For details, see https://www.homeandaway.hsbc.com/1/2...looktravel/all

Note: if you purchase multiple one-way tickets in a single transaction on Klook, you will only be issued a single voucher. If you exchange that voucher, you will receive multiple tickets, valid on the day of exchange only.

30% off single and return tickets

Free connection on the MTR

http://www.mtr.com.hk/en/customer/se...nnections.html

30% off single and return tickets

When purchased from Hong Thai travel agency either online (http://www.hongthai.com/tc/Promotion...Promotion.html) or in person at a branch office (list of addresses: http://www.hongthai.com/tc/templates/BranchListAll.html).

If purchasing online, the "confirmation note" (which you must print out and show at the Airport Express station ticket counter to get your ticket) will be e-mailed to you 12-24 hours after you make your purchase on the Hong Thai website. The "confirmation note" is valid for 60 days from the order date. Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay and American Express are accepted payment methods for online orders.

If purchasing in person at a branch office, only cash/EPS is accepted. You will receive a paper voucher valid until 31 December 2018 which must be exchanged for a ticket at the Airport Express station ticket counter.

Confirmation Note is redeemed at Airport Express Customer Service Centre at Tsing Yi/Kowloon/Hong Kong stations; not HKIA station. When flying into HKIA, head directly to Airport Express train. Do not stop at HKIA Airport Express Customer Service Centre. Once you arrive at Tsing Yi/Kowloon/Hong Kong, redeem at Customer Service Centre for ticket to exit the turnstile.

I went in person to a Hong Thai office yesterday and bought some Airport Express vouchers (at a 35% off discount). The expiry date of the vouchers is 31 December 2016.

That is a good price, not far from our bulk purchase of 500 Central-HKG pricing.

Klook.com - cheap airport express tickets

I can't take credit for this at all, I found it though here:

http://hktravelblog.com/general/airport-express-tips/

Anyway the above blog points to a site called Klook, which offers extremely cheap Airport Express tickets, to the point where a return to Hong Kong Station is HK$131 instead of HK$180 if you buy it at the Airport Express counters.

You buy through the Klook website or app and get an email which you show at the Airport Express counters to redeem your ticket. I can confirm I've tried it a few without problems. I also note others on FT have used it as well:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/25941591-post13.html

Anyway the relevant Klook website link for AE tix is here: http://www.klook.com/activity/71-air...ess-hong-kong/

Edited: Nevermind - while these prices are nice, it's not as cheap as Hong Thai's 35% off, which seems to be on-going for 2016. $117 / 104 for r/t to HK and Kowloon station.

Maybe mods can merge with this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hong-...-discount.html

Making the Klook or Hong Tai deals more appealing to those traveling in groups.

Is it possible to buy the one way ticket from Hong Thai website to go TO the airport (departing from Kowloon or Hong Kong station)? Or can it only be used if the airport is the starting point?

Thanks!

For Hong Thai I want to buy tickets for my family arriving into HKIA. Is it possible for me to buy them via my account and then send the redemption form to my family for them to redeem?

I know my family can open account themselves, but I've just opened an account with Hong Thai and its not so straightforward (especially, like me, if you don't read Chinese). I don't think my family would be able to navigate the account opening.

You can input your own pick-up person and his/her email. That person will need to print the confirmation and show an ID when picking up ticket.

Can I buy a r/t from Hong Thai and use it for two HKIA->City trips? or vise versa? Instead of a "complete" journey?

Not sure about Hong Thai but the return tickets from AEX or travel agencies are two segments one in each direction.
IIRC there is also a used by date of the return portion once the first segment is used.

Just added Klook (27% off discount) to the wiki.

Although it's slightly more expensive than Hong Thai, you receive the e-redemption voucher instantly by e-mail after paying on the website/app.

I've also added two promo codes available for app/HSBC users.
