The ES NF also has in-room jacuzzi's in many suites. Depending how full the property is, that'll be the upgraded room you may get. Best room we had there on a low cityview rate was an upgrade (HHonors Gold) to a 38th floor fallsview room with fireplace and jacuzzi. Excellent views of both the Horseshoe and American Falls.

Thanks for all the input. The dates we're looking at appear to have lots of availability - which is surprising (around labor day).

Just to totally confuse the issue, you may want to also look at the Doubletree. Stayed there last August at a very reasonable rate, and got given a balcony room overlooking the falls (as an HH Gold, then). Great for watching the fireworks over the falls. For some odd reason, only one floor of the hotel has balconies, which means there are perhaps only eight such rooms. So, don't count on one without a specific commitment from the property.

Hilton Niagara Falls Review

Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview
6361 Fallsview Blvd.
Niagara Falls, ON
L2G 3V9

Dates of Stay: August 1-3,2006

Review:
I haven’t been to Niagara Falls in some 30+ years. Back then I was an infrequent traveler and thought places like Wisconsin Dells, velvet Elvis pictures and orange Camaros were “cool”.
I, however, considered Niagara as tacky. I also remembered that the Canadian side of the falls seemed nicer without wall-to-wall fudge and souvenir shops.
Needing to travel to Toronto for business I searched the Hilton website for hotels within 50 miles of the city and among the search results were the Hilton properties in Niagara Falls.
I searched Flyer Talks Hilton forum and found that the best views were at the Embassy Suites, but that the Hilton also was nice and could have great views as well. Initially, I was going to go with the Embassy Suite, but their lowest price was $225 and I could get the Hilton at a AAA $135. I called the Hilton and they said Hilton Honor’s Diamonds are always upgraded to the best falls view possible. I’m a sucker for great views, so I figured a short drive to and from Toronto was a fair tradeoff.
What I didn’t know was that Hilton’s website seems to have a problem with distance and the actual mileage was more like 75 miles and the roads between the two cities have much construction and very much traffic (Wow! Toronto really has grown.). With non-rush hour traffic I was able to do this trip in slightly more than 1 ½ hours. No big deal, it was worth it for great views at a nice place.
Niagara Falls/Canada:
Most of it is tacky exponential. There are areas (most close to the Hilton) that has some nice walks and park areas with great views.
I took a side trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake. It’s a quaint nice town in the midst of wine country (???). If my wife traveled with me, this is where I would have preferred to stay at.
While, obviously, many people enjoy Niagara, it’s just not to my taste.
Hilton:
A very easy and nice check-in. The lobby is attractive and valet parking is $20/night. Note: There are parking lots within a couple blocks as low as $5 and you can park at the casino across the street (after joining their players club) for free. I was only charged for one night for some reason.
The first thing you notice at the hotel is its pool area. With glass windows you get “slapped” with the importance of this pool with its huge slide the moment you walk to the elevators.
These elevators go to the newer section. There are elevators further from the lobby that lead to (from what I heard) a not so nice former Day’s Inn that’s now part of this Hilton.
My room was on the 24th floor. It was described as a fallsview Jacuzzi suite. The room is a sort of junior suite (one, not two rooms). It had a king bed, a coach, desk, chair and credenza with TV. Overall an okay to nice room. The bathroom was nice with a big Jacuzzi that has French-door type windows that open to the room. Ostensibly this is so you can lay in the tub and enjoy a great view. (Check out their website pictures)This isn’t possible because you lose the view the moment you sit down.
As I opened my curtains I was ready for the view. First, I opened the drapes to my left (I was in a corner suite) and got a view of a ferris wheel in the horizon. I pretty much didn’t open these drapes again. The main window gave me a great view of one of American falls. That is, if I maneuver the drapes to be entirely open (this can be accomplished with the help of the nearby lamp stand). If I get close to the window and look off to the right I can see part of the bigger Canadian Falls. As far as the main view, it was colorful and huge. It also had a name: Casino! Not just the upper floors of the Casino across the street, but the casino sign itself. That night as I waited for the light show on the falls, I already had a spectacular view of the light show of the huge word: “CASINO”. Now that’s a view.
The hotel did bring two bottles of water and chocolate each night. The free (for diamonds) breakfast buffet was also a very nice touch.
I ate a very average room service one night and another did a carry-out from their casual restaurant (good value) on the street level.
Overall, if you really want to go to Niagara , the hotel is pretty nice. I’m sure kids would like it. As one dad checking out was telling his pre-teen daughter as they were checking out:
“I’m glad you’ve had a great time here, but don’t you think you’d like to see the falls before we leave?”

Grand Niagara Resort is planning a $267 million expansion of its golf course facility in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The expansion plans call for a Hilton hotel, a conference facility, time-share condos, homesites, a winery, a pair of manmade lakes and another golf course.

My wife and I stayed at the Niagara Falls Hilton less than two weeks ago and got upgraded as a Diamond to Room 2910 facing the falls. We had unobstructed views of both falls even though the Casino Tower was right in the middle obstructing only the park area between the falls. The view at night was spectacular with a full moon an a very clear night. Many of the other hotels are closer (Embassy Suites, Marriott, etc.) and offer unobstructed views of both falls.

We did get the complementary full buffet breakfast served at the top floor dining room and the view was exactly the same as from our room which was a couple of floors below the dining room.

If staying at the Hilton and in the middle to lower floors then get a room close to the middle of the hotel near the elevator because the Casino Tower will then only obstruct the park view between the two falls.

The parking fee is $20CAD per day for valet and self parking in one of two parkign lots. One parking lot is on the Hilton property and is usually full and the other is just across the street in the Hooters parking lot. A key card is required to open the car parking lot gate.

Niagara Falls Fallsview

Stayed there for three nights, overcharged me $120 ($30 each night) for the King Size bed because they said I booked two Queen Sizes bed instead (I wasn't sure because I had no internet access when I checked-in). When I checked my conformation from my e-mail today it showed I booked the king size bed without the extra $30 charge. Last time I stayed there they charged me the extra bottle of water, but I let that one go, does that happen to every Hilton Hotel or is it just the one in Niagara Falls??

Umm...did they overcharge you by $90 or $120? (Three nights x $30 per night = $90.) Anyway, that's really immaterial.

To your point, did you ask to speak to a manager about the billing issues? It's always a good idea to carry a printed copy of your confirmation in case something like this happens. My own personal track record, though, has been very good. For the past few years, I've stayed 80-100 nights per year at Hilton family properties and have had billing issues two or three times in that time. The issues I've had were always settled quickly with a phone call or visit to the front desk upon checkout. On principle, I never let an overcharge issue slide without bringing it to the property's attention--even if it is for a $3.00 bottle of water that I was charged for that should've been comped.

ES is nicer. Hilton is good for smokers.

I recently visited Niagara Falls twice (long story, run out of things to do in Toronto). The first time, stayed at ES. Got a really nice falls view suite with Jacuzzi. The room has direct view of both Horseshoe fall and the American fall. The second time, i checked into Hilton (thinking it might be a notch higher in quality), I was totally wrong. At first, I was given a smoking room on 21st floor, the rack rate for the room was $1450 CAD. I called the front desk to be moved and was given another smoking room. I was told all the rooms are non-smoking which was a lie (I later confirmed with house keeping and it turned out the ones that I was assiged to were "smoking rooms", meaning guests have the option to smoke in the room. According to front desk's definition, "non-smoking room" is when the guests decide not to smoke in the room), there were ashtray in the drawers. I asked to check out from the hotel immediately and checked into ES.

We stayed at this hotel on Dec. 16th, 2007.

While I don't have a whole lot to add to what has been said already, I had no problems whatsoever with the hotel, and I absolutely loved the room which was on the 30th floor (3005, I believe).

Great view from the two windows, great bathroom with jacuzzi, and a wonderful restaurant on the 33rd floor. We only went there for breakfast (dinners were too expensive for our taste), but the buffet was good, and free for gold/diamond.

I took some photos from the hotel room window at various times, and got a couple of the restaurant area as well:

The ES is a cat 6. These areas are touristy and are boom or bust. I stayed there last winter and every hotel was empty.

Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Fallsview or the ES lately? Planning on going in June and trying to decide which hotel to stay at. Will be staying on points, if that matters.
