The Circa casino is opening Oct 28, 2020, the hotel will open the first 5 (might be 7) floors on Dec 28. The rest of the hotel construction is pending to see what mix of suites/rooms seem most popular.

It may be me, but I think the Virgin/Hard Rock is in a better location than the Hilton/Conrad. To me, much further north than the Wynn/Encore and you lose most of the benefit of being "on the strip". To walk from the Hilton to Aria is a 52 minute walk.

Either way, I'm glad to see new options. Hilton has been fighting hard to take more Vegas market share.

It will be interesting to see if Virgin keeps the party-vibe (since its Vegas, extra party-vibe) and young clientele that frequented the Hard Rock. From the photos, it definitely seems like that's who they are targeting. I'm definitely excited to try it out. I've never stayed off the strip, and I like to frequent multiple resorts in one-stay, so hopefully the hotel has enough amenities to keep guests entertained.

There is no mention of a resort fee when I go to book on Hilton.com or OTA. Hard to believe, and I hope it stays that way!

Looking forward to a stay there in April and using my American Express Aspire resort credit, as it is listed as a resort. Will that mean a resort fee? Also, the deals, at least so far, are not as good as using Virtuoso or FHR so I will spend some nights at other properties too.

The Virgin hotels brand have previously stated they are averse to resort fees and in general all nickel and diming. Hopefully that lasts.

Good news. I am surprised you can use the resort credit since there is no resort fee.

They might get a lot more business with no resort fees, especially with younger people who they seem to targeting.

Ceasar's has been getting all my vegas business lately since they don't charge a resort fee

Here is a list of hotels you can use the Aspire resort credit at, We used our at the Doubletree North Redington Beach resort in Florida which does not charge a resort fee.

Caesars doesn't charge a resort fee if you have Diamond status or greater.

I was thinking all the hotels the resort credit worked at charged the resort fee. Good to know not all of them do.

Since Caesars started the resort fee they have never charged their diamond+ a resiort fee. The HGVC I used to stay in Vegas would waive it for my corporate account code when they first started charging it but stopped that practice and that's why Caesars hotels get my personal paid business now in Vegas.

I wish Hilton would do the same for their diamonds or at least for diamonds with so many nights or stays a year. I'd rather they waive resort fees for diamonds and do away with the reosrt credit.

I'm trying to decide whether to stay here for a one-night stay. My problem is we always stay at Caesars because we get comped rooms, and free is my favorite price.

However, we really want a change. I could either use a certificate (but a waste since the points are only 35K for our night, and a cert is good up to 95K). But I'd still be depleting either points or the certificate. On the other hand, no resort fee (we do have to pay at Caesars because our status is low), free parking and free breakfast HH Diamond benefit (wonder what it will be?).

Vegas is the only place we can get comped rooms, so I hate to give that up. Also, since we didn't travel at all last year wondering if a 2 year gap will make our CET offers completely disappear.

On the other hand...really would like a change of scenery.

I know I'm rambling and everyone will say "do what you want" but have you ever been in a position where you used HH points and didn't have to? We don't have tons right now, but we'll replenish over time. And 35K is not a bad redemption.

You *might* be able to get around this by Hilton Diamond matching to Hyatt Explorist, which matches to MLife Gold, which matches to Caesars Diamond:

I mention this because Caesars Diamond members don't pay resort fees and you can do a back and forth match between Wyndham and Caesars in a loop as mentioned in my first link. Your Vegas rooms should become actually free. (Right now I'm seeing $10 rooms during the week in March at Bally's, Linq, Harrah's and Rio as a "Diamond" and I'm a complete flea- I would imagine if I gave them some action they would become actually free.)

- There have been times I've used points somewhat inefficiently, yes- in theory you're spending 35k Hilton instead of cash for a $45 resort fee. That being said it's your money and points and if you want to make a change... 35k Hilton a night is pretty good for a Vegas property. I've seen the Trop above that at times, and it's a complete dump, and the W=A is barely if ever under 70k a night, though it's really nice. I don't think I've often seen Elara under 35k a night, and I'd pick Virgin Vegas over Elara in a heartbeat.
