Hilton San Fransisco Financial District back in 2010 when I visited the USA for the first time in my life together with my father. It was a memorable trip as it was after I graduated high school when I was 19 and spent 2 weeks traveling the USA.

Chicago Conrad Hilton in 1975. The first stay with HHonors was in 1987 when they started the program. I was staying at the Columbus, GA Hilton and they had just put out information on joining the new program.

I can't remember the exact year but it was whilst I worked for Gala Casinos and was a Relief Manager so it was sometime between 2001 & 2004 and was the now closed and demolished Hilton Dundee. I was there a week and remember thinking to myself if this is Hilton what the hell is all the hype about. Then I remembered I was in Dundee!
My next Hilton experience after that was about six months later at London Park Lane for an awards night and it was like night and day

I think it was Hilton Dubrovnik in 2012, unless I forgot about some insignifcant stay by the airport paid by airline or similar. It was nice stay, nice view but I never managed to go back.
I intoduced my friends to Hilton brand by reserving a room for them in Hilton Antwerp where they were upgraded to full suite with view towards the square. Upgrade was based on my status. I think it made great impression on them and they now stay in Hiltons reguarly and usually see it as a treat. So one upgrade on first stay and Hilton got loyal customers.

In 2014 I found an opportunity to earn IHG Spire by withdrawing £37500 cash from ATMs. I status matched this to Diamond and then booked a long trip around Europe to cities with Hiltons. The first one just happened to be the now closed Hilton Nuremberg. First words from the check-in agent were "Welcome back to Hilton!"

Embassy Suites in Tampa. Hockey road trip right before I started traveling with a new job, and it was cheaper than the Marriott across the street, so I ended up just sticking with Hilton after that.

The first one I can definetely remember was at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in 1988. Arrived late afternoon, walked on the beach a bit and had a drink as the sun set. Went to bed early and requested a wake up call so we could attend a 'free" breakfast that covered some activities available. In the middle of the night the phone rang and I answered it thinking it was our wake up call. It ended up being a woman speaking Japanese (best guess). I had no idea what she said, but hung up the phone and looked out to a pitch black Pacific Ocean and commented to my wife how dark it was as 6:00 a.m, not realizing it was only 1:45.

I know *exactly* my first Hilton stay:
November 6, 1993. Las Vegas Hilton.
I know this because I was meeting my Dad, who had a room booked here for some conference he was attending. I was stoked to go to Vegas for, really, the first time as a young adult.
I flew in early and immediately picked up that there was a buzz about town because of some boxing match at Caesar’s that evening.
I don’t care about the pugilistics, but I was walking by myself down the strip when “The Fan Man” parachuted to crash into the ring between boxers Holyfield & Riddick. Basically all hell broke loose (I didn’t really understand why people wanted to kill the prankster until later, when it became apparent there were gamblers betting on each round, etc. and probably hundreds of thousands of dollars of bets went wonky with the idiot’s interruption.)
if you missed this oddball sports history footnote
The hotel was kind of blah, vanilla and soulless. I remembered thinking that “Hilton” was supposed to be an oohlahlah brand (I was a broke college kid: Comfort Inn was my scope of experience at the time.) So... letdown. Then again, I didn’t have status. Many years later as a Gold, I got a nice suite that unfortunately smelled like an ashtray. I’ve learned to hate Vegas, but graduated to the Elara, HGI, and Waldorf as my current LV jams.

I remember thinking it was amazing and was blown away by the place and this was just an entry level room as I had no status.
It was definitely love at first sight but nowadays we Have a kinda rollercoaster relationship.
