Can anyone tell me, what shows up on screen at check-in?
I just made my diamond stay and am just curious, what shows up when I check in? Do they see my status?
Has anyone worked for the Hilton chain or been privy to the computer screen? Also, do they see how many times I've stayed with them in the past? Some hotels I've made 6+ stays with and they still ask, "have you stayed with us before?"

After checking out those relevant links, it seems that the front desk staff can see you # of stays at the Property you are staying at, plus # stays at other family brands and # stays at the Hilton chain as a whole.
But can the staff see the which property (across all brands) you have stayed at and when too? It's an interesting question as to tailor make the offering to you based on that piece of info.
Thanks!

I am again shamed for not using the search box...
Those are some good links. I had no idea that much information was being displayed on the computers. It's funny because my experience is completely different. I have never been greeted by status (take this with a grain of salt, I just completed 30 stays and only registered for the program August of this year) and have never been recognized as staying at a property more than once.
I know the info must be accessible, last week I was in DEN and got a ground floor accessible room. Not my preference, but fine for short sleep before early flight that I had. Maybe 2 minutes after checking in, the young guy who checked me in, called and apologized about the room and asked me if I wanted to switch. It wasn't a problem, but I assumed that he had pulled up my account in detail and the info was there.
I noticed that the threads that are referenced are mostly talking about Hilton properties. Does anyone know if the system is the same for all properties (specifically, Hampton Inns)?

HHonor GGuard who replied upstream is/was a Hampton employee. So it at least seems that the information might be systemwide.

Sometimes they seem to realize I'm a repeat guest at the property and other times not mentioned; the latter cases I guess they don't look at that detail on the screen.

I've even had a FDC comment on how many points I had - so it's obviously visible to them. Some just really don't care to look or to follow any greeting protocols.

Which is unfortunately as it's an incredibly cheap (i.e. free), quick (takes what? 10-15 seconds?), and easy (again with the 10-15 seconds) way to make a somewhat personal connection with a guest, which can do nothing but help drive repeat stays. Will it drive a large increase in repeat stays? But considering the cost and difficulty, any additional repeat stays at all attributable to it should be worth it.

I once stayed in a small town HI in Texas and upon check in the desk clerk looked at the screen and said, "You've got over 750,000 points! I've never seen anyone with that many points. We are happy you decided to stay with us."
Most do not comment on it but they know. I stay mostly at HI and HGI because I work in industrial areas and the full service hotels just do not locate there. They almost always do a quick read when I check in, but since the properties have few extras to offer, it is a simple, "Thank you for staying with us."
That OK. I actually switched to Hilton because I can stay in Hamptons and vacation in Hilton resorts.

So if they can see your stay activity, past and future, then perhaps that allows them to distinguish between diamonds earned through stays versus diamond earned through credit card or other promotions. That may explain sometimes difference is upgrade treatment.

They cannot; onQ doesn't provide that level of information to FD staff.
