I once stayed in a small town HI in Texas and upon check in the desk clerk looked at the screen and said, "You've got over 750,000 points! I've never seen anyone with that many points. We are happy you decided to stay with us."

Most do not comment on it but they know. I stay mostly at HI and HGI because I work in industrial areas and the full service hotels just do not locate there. They almost always do a quick read when I check in, but since the properties have few extras to offer, it is a simple, "Thank you for staying with us."

That OK. I actually switched to Hilton because I can stay in Hamptons and vacation in Hilton resorts.
