Hertz President's Circle
I have hertz president's circle status. If I rent a compact or economy what type of upgrade would I get? Rental is not an airport location. Ideally I would like to get an upgrade to an FCAR so not sure what level I need to book for that.

Hertz President's Circle entitles you to a one-class car upgrade only, so that means if you reserve an economy car, you'd be entitled to a compact car, and if you reserve a compact car, you'd be entitled to an intermediate car. With PC status, the location certainly might treat you better, but reserving an economy or compact car and hoping for a fullsize might be a bit too much to expect.

The odds of a HLE having a "Standard" vehicle is low. If you book an intermediate, odds are you'll either get a FCAR, or an intermediate. If they give you an intermediate, complain and they will most likely give you a FCAR.

Booked 8 day SUV rental at DUB airport. Overcharged by 100 euros and charge card was run in USD instead of EUR as requested multiple times. Second time DUB has done something like this. Posted it on twitter @hertz. Waiting for response.
Great service for a President's Circle member! /s
UPDATE: They told me to go pound sand, in a nice way. You know, the more I look at it, this is borderline fraudulent.

I already booked. I just paid for the FCAR. Its like $5 more anyway. Last time I rented from the place I was given a suv as an upgrade from an fcar. Normally that doesn't happen though.

Just booked 7 days from London-Heathrow in mid-May 2018. Pay later rate was cheaper than the pre-pay rate. I went with the compact, which was the only automatic transmission option other than a premium and the notorious mini-van). I've always had extremely good upgrades out of London, Manchester and Edinburgh, even with a compact booking.

Hopefully someone can help while I’m on my flight to SFO.
I booked a Midsize SUV going to Tahoe assuming it would be AWD but got an email assigning a Kia Sportage 2WD. There’s a little rain and snow tonight so I would like to get AWD to drive up even if it’s a car I’m not worried about ground clearance.
Since ive been assigned a car in a stall can I still go to PC section or the others and scope out something AWD or should I go to the office? I’m returning to the HLE at Harvey’s casino not sure if that matters.

Thanks for the quick reply. Since it’ll be 10pm I wanted to get out quick as I can so I’ll scope out the sections and hopefully find something before talking to the counter.
It’s my first time with an assinged stall at an UC location. I thought I read I could do as you said on here but was tough searching the forum on slow plane WiFi.

Updated Edit: As I got to PC section a Jeep Cherokee 4x4 with M&S tires was still wet from being washed. Couldn’t have worked out better. Safely got me over Highway 50 as it was dumping snow. Was great, no sliding or spinning.

I had a terrible experience yesterday at EWR. Arrived to the Hertz counter and on the board was marked "See desk". This was my 2nd rental with Hertz, first with President's Circle after status matching. I rented a premium car - asked if I was able to pick a car in President's Circle lot. In the beginning, agent said this is my first rental so there's no way I would be PC status, then I showed her my PC status on my phone and also my Hertz PC card. Then she told me to pick a car in the lot and bring the keys back to the counter so she can enter in the system. Saw an Audi A3 and grabbed the keys. She did not want to give this car to me and said it would cost more. Then in a condescending voice, asked me "How old are you?". She then calls in for a car in my class booking - was given a Chevy Impala. I asked if there was anything else, and straight up said "nope.".

29. I tweeted them. Not sure why they would deny me one of the cars in the PC lot when I have PC status.

My name was on the board as "see desk." I walk into the desk area, smile at the agent and the conversation goes as follows:
Agent: "What?"
Me: "The sign says see desk next to my name."
Agent: "Okay? How am I supposed to know that?"
Great start... anyway, she pulls up my info, tells me that since I am under 25 I need to pay the young renter's fee. I was on a US Government CDP (official travel), so this fee is unambiguously waived per the government contract in place. I asked her to please call her manager, who literally read the CDP terms and conditions out loud on speakerphone, and said "yeah no waiver here." Whatever, I say that I'll just get it taken care of later this is such a waste of time and we're on a schedule. Dealing with my agency's travel agent on this now...
Then, she says that I am allowed to choose any car from the gold area. I reply that I am president's circle status and she says "not according to the computer you're not." I showed her my phone that clearly stated I was President's Circle (and I just checked my account online which is unsurprisingly showing President's Circle). She writes "GOLD" on my contract, underlines it twice, and tells me that I am allowed to choose from the gold area only. I ended up with a dirty Camry with 27k miles on it.
I probably could have fought this more at the desk, but I had a client with me and we were on a tight schedule with a long drive ahead of us. This lady was so bad, though, that I have no intention of ever using Hertz again unless it is the absolute last option. For comparison, two weeks ago in Vegas my boyfriend and I booked a premium with Avis (where I'm lowly preferred plus based again on status matching) and were offered a Mercedes GLE350 with 6 miles on it for an extra $20/day and the agent was lovely. I understand I'm being a bit dramatic here, but the experiences were night and day and I will not forget.
