More information can be found on the first page of this thread.

Additionally, you can save time by having AutoSlash generate a quote for you up-front by clicking here, or if you've already got a rental booked, just click here to enter your info and AutoSlash will check to see if a lower rate is available.

If you're looking for a specialty vehicle from Hertz (something from the Prestige/Adrenaline/Green Collections), it is helpful if you can specify the four-letter car size code (i.e. ICAR, MVAR, etc.) shown on the Hertz website for the specific vehicle you're looking for.

You can avoid our spam filters simply by not posting any links or quoting any links in your replies. This restriction applies to just your first two posts, so once you've posted a few times you can link away.

We are happy that this thread generates many new FlyerTalk members, and we hope you will stick around. By learning & sharing our knowledge freely, we all become better travelers. Hopefully some day you will be posting a reply, showing a new guy how to get a good rate.

Vehicle Size Preference: MCAR is most preferred. However Hertz website is not showing hence I got quote for SCAR.
Memberships (AAA/USAA/airline FFP/etc): BAEC, Delta etc.
Best Price you've found, Hertz or otherwise: 210.67 including tax and all. I would also need LDW but that is not included in this rate.
If by MCAR you meant midsize, then $136 at Avis or $161.14 at Hertz (excluding LDW, of course). Not sure why Hertz's site wasn't showing one available, as it's there now. A few bucks more for the SCAR if you want that instead.

Best Price I've found:

Hertz.ie

Total 642.00 USD

Included in the rate:
Airport concession fee recovery
Loss Damage Waiver
Liability Insurance Supplement
Tax and other charges
Customer Facility Charge
Rental Surcharge
Vehicle Licensing Cost Recovery
Energy Surcharge
We're not really set up to work with international all-inclusive rates, but they can be great deals if you qualify (and need the insurance products packaged in).

Best we were able to do was $596.63 with Budget (or, since you put a ZIP code in, $487.18 at a nearby offsite Budget), but that is not an all-inclusive rate. Probably best to stick with the all-inclusive rate to avoid paying 12 days of insurance at probably $50/day on top of the rate.

That's a good rate, but note that is not technically a publicly-available CDP. We don't search codes that require you to be employed by a particular organization to use.

Here are some alternatives with Dollar (as low as $206 for a compact) and National that won't require you to show an employee ID.

One day one way to NYC

I am looking for a one day (5/31 to 6/1) one way rental of a Minivan from PIT to NYC (JFK, LGA, or any location in Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens). The best rate I can find is more than $250 ai. Any CDP, coupon, or other suggestion to find a better rate is greatly appreciated!

One-ways can be a bit more difficult to find discounts on, as many PC codes are not valid on one-ways and many CDPs don't give expected results.

Still, we were able to find as low as $192.35 with Budget or $230.59 with Hertz.

Hope that helps!

I cannot reproduce the rate in autoslash.com. When searching for PIT-JFK for my dates, I keep receiving below message:

We're sorry, there are no cars available that fit your request.
What you can do:
Resubmit using a different pick-up or drop-off time. Rental locations may not be open at the requested times.
Resubmit using a different pick-up location or airport code.
Resubmit using a different car type.

That's because most of the rental agencies have taken steps to block their rates from appearing on our site when you search. The link we included in our previous post contains the necessary parameters to bypass the rental agencies' blocks (and I just verified the link--it does work), but if you try to go to AutoSlash.com and replicate the search on your own, it will fail.

If you need to adjust something in the search parameters, reply back here and we can create a new link that works for your new request.

If you click here and then click "all locations" under the Enterprise column, there's a location about 5 miles from the ZIP code you gave with a rate of $703.13 for the month. Probably worth the short drive to save $100.

For a minivan, we came up with $353.66 for Budget and $407.76 with Hertz.

For a Standard SUV, we got $353.66 as well with Budget (Intermediate SUVs were actually more expensive, believe it or not). Hertz was $473.46 on the SUV.

Thanks so much. However the locations seem to be a bit off from what I wanted but I should be able to work around that.
