They really had no choice. As much as Frazier bungled this, it's not 'for cause' worthy, which is why he chose to be fired, rather than resign.

Linebacker Adam Leonard will not opt to enter the NFL Draft. He will stay at UH for his Senior year. Ryan Grice-Mullins will forego his Senior year to enter the NFL draft. Grice-Mullins is projected to be a 4th round pick. Leonard was second on the team in tackles with 105, and tied for first in interceptions with 4.

So the irony is that JJ owes $400k for early termination of his contract. Essentially, he is paying for HF's buyout. Hmmm.
