And that's just a still... while I was there, there were two emergency landings that sent out the fire brigade. All the vehicles are functioning and act like the real thing (stopping for moving aircraft, etc.). It's a sight to behold.

They have a YT channel. Just watching there videos makes me wanna book a trip to Hamburg

Here's a video of the airport

Here's another presenting the Miniatur Wunderland and showing many, many details

---
Concerning Hamburg, I always enjoyed the harbor and doing a little shopping east and west of the Innenalster.

No, not realistic! When I visit an airport there are at least 3 emergency landings

Another vote for the Miniatur Wunderland (and I'm not a freak....).
Fantastic place.
I am going to Hamburg in December and wasn't really going to do a third visit to the Miniatur Wonderland due to time restraints but have now changed my mind.
And they have a Lindt factory that pops out chocolates when you press a button.

It would actually be a fun FlyerTalk meet-up place if it would be possible to rent the whole place for some hours.

Must make another vote for Miniatur Wunderland! I thought it would be mostly me indulging hubby. After spending several hours there, I still felt I hadn't seen everything and am trying to mastermind another trip to Hamburg just to get to go back there!

Another vote for Miniatur Wunderland. It is, indeed, great!
Make sure to book a time slot on-line - it saved us from a 65-minute queue. And this was on a Monday in April.

It's indeed fascinating. I visited it, because I spent 3 months in Hamburg (so lots of time to do everything). Never thought that it was THAT popular around here.

Smile

I would absolutely not miss Miniatur Wonderland. The adults had as much, if not more fun, than the kids! They just had to act adult(-ish) about it and not scream at joy at the sights and sounds..

We enjoyed our short stops in Hamburg. Sadly, we ran out of time for Miniatur Wonderland, I had been planning on it, but just ran out of time. We had a really fun tour with Hempel's Musical Beatle's tour.

We stayed at Hotel Reichsof and enjoyed our stays there, so convenient for trains. The restaurant was good and we also loved the bar.

Next time, then....
Glad you had a nice trip otherwise.
I am staying in the Curio Reichshof in December for the first time, looking forward to it.

I'd vote for Airbus Finkenwerder as the must do.

The tour I did there last year was incredible, you got to walk the production line and were in touching distance to everything from A321 tail fins to engines waiting to be mounted.

Having also done the Airbus Toulouse and Boeing Everett tours, Finkenwerder was the best by far and worth the taxi ride out there.

Next on my list will be the Elbephilharmonie when it finally opens!
