I believe that 50k coin in is better for the bankroll than 150k coin in.

Apologies if this has been asked before
but I know the TR diamond benefit is up
in the air but is guaranteed until
the end of January. What would stop someone from matching to Wyndham at the beginning of January 2018 and then matching TR diamond again for the rest of the year?

Also I am already TR diamond because of the status match. Any reason to get the FC now or shouid I wait until January after they find out if they are renewing and take a gap in status?

I'd recommend you take a look at the other benefits of FC. TR Diamond is a big deal for many, but isn't the only benefit. There are opportunities for hotel or airline status upgrades etc. For me, it was all about TR Diamond. Now that I have made that on my own for 2018 not sure I'll keep the FC once it is up the middle of next year.

For anyone that might be interested, I just received a referral code from FoundersCard for $295 annual fee. Note: If you have been reading this thread, there is no guarantee of Total Rewards Diamond after January 31, 2018, but hoping they continue this benefit.
Code for $295 fee is FCSCOTT229, or paste this Link: https://founderscard.com/membership?code=FCSCOTT229.
Thanks in advance for anyone who uses this code. It is only supposed to be good until 12/27/17 (just extended 12/20/17)

Just keep in mind that Diamond status will no longer get you into the Diamond lounges next year. I like the spin they put on it - "it's just $10 to get in". Not exactly. Assuming slot machines take all your money and never pay out, that $10 will cost you $5,000.00 to earn. Yes, $5k for one entrance for one person. Don't get me wrong, Diamond status is still great, but you have to do the math on the lounge fee.

First off, it's coin-in, not actual loss, and you'd have to have an all-time epic bad day to lose 5K on slots and just reach 1K RCs. It can happen, but that would mean not a single spin would even return half your bet. Aside from that, luckily, CET offers a variety of ways to get RCs. I've earned $21 from Say and Play and probably another $5 from Marketplace and TR Dining. Plus, I had a couple trips this year where I had multipliers and some RC offers. After clearing out $40 from DL visits in AC this past August, I started September with $9 and am now ending the year with $101. That's $92 in RCs without losing $5K, and actually being close to even the last few months.

Non-players and non-savvy casino patrons will feel the grip, but that's their dilemna. But so will those who emptied their RCs on the back-end of their last trip, which will suck and is somewhat unfair to them. Don't worry, as CET will issue comp entry passes as offers/perks, just like they did in AC.

Yes, the $5K loss is theoretical since they don't disclose the payout. The only thing I know is that a guy whose job was to test the random number generators in the machines told me that the payout is 80% at best. Which means it costs $1K to get into the lounge. Bring a guest and that's $2k. And I am by far the world's most unlucky player. I never win. Hence, I stopped playing altogether. Now if only I can figure out how to get those free passes.

I hear you. My losses have gone WAY down since I moved slots play to the background. Odd thing, though, is that I increased my slot play a decent bit this year but I'm finishing the year down 1/3 of where I was at last year. I think I found a great balance this year, mixing in more slots and playing VP more consistently, and have seen decent rewards at my usual spots.

Thing is, as I said above, there are easy ways to get RCs without spending all day gambling and calculating the actual cost. I'm a believer in value, in whatever I spend, and that includes something so Hoover-ish as gambling. An interwebs gambling guru I admire said that his time was worth more than what Say and Play offered as kickback, and I couldn't disagree more. Yes, gambling is WAY more fun, but I can earn close to 100 RCs a day often in less than 15 minutes while commercials are on, without leaving the house or losing money. That's 3 DL trips per month or a nice solo late night meal at your favorite casino burger joint. Burned those RCs last trip but hankering to hit the Lounge first thing in February? Easy. Of course, you can also get the CC and earn from everyday purchases. Too many ways to get credits for me to even get too concerned over it. Even at Borgata, I can cash in a myVegas reward for comp dollars and go into the Amphora Lounge.

Thanks, I just signed up for Say and Play and did the first survey. Very time consuming, but beats losing entire paychecks in a matter of minutes. One thing I keep getting conflicting answers on is when the new rules start. Some say January 1, some say February 1. I want to milk those lounges for all they're worth while they're still free.

Pretty sure it is January 1st, as that's what I've been running across.

As to Say and Play, I won't do one that is 40 RCs for 15 minutes or 60 for 20 or so. I did two 40s last night that, combined, took me maybe 12 minutes. When those are out there, I try to avoid anything crazy. I also watch my emails, as I've gotten some good ones there. You notoriously get hosed at tables, unless you get a box/pit boss who properly rate you, so I'll take anything extra I can get as long as they're offering.

If they are buying FC only for the CET Diamond benefit, understand the Diamond benefits expire on Jan 31 2018 with no guarantee the FC/CET partnership will be renewed for 2018. Unless you are cramming a bunch of visits into January 2018, it makes more sense to wait until the arrangement between FC and CET is finalized after the beginning of the year. Paying $295 for a month of Diamond benefits seems a little steep. If you are joining for the other FC benefits (let's be serious, not many are) then it's a bargain.

My code is good for the year, even if you wait until they announce any changes, it will still be good to use. I have been a member for years and this is my guaranteed locked in rate for members signing up through me.

I'm locked in to a discounted rate also, I just don't try to pimp it on these boards. The FC card is good for the year, the FC/CET relationship is not. Current Diamond status with CET expires 31 Jan 2018, with NO guarantee of renewal. If one wants the FC for the CET Diamond status, wait for the renewal/non-renewal announcement. If one desires the card for the other FC benefits, then a simple e-mail to FC will get you the discounted rate (as well as other benefits). I have not found the other benefits of the FC card all that beneficial. If they lose the Diamond benefit, I will not be renewing.
