The change - from CAK to CLE - is driven by other imperatives, one of which is that they have to have an aircraft at CLE for the various Mexican and Caribbean routes (not just from CLE) and it doesn't make any kind of economic sense - to me - to maintain the two stations.
They may lose you and others on the swings, but they will probably gain on the roundabouts.
I'm sorry that they will lose you (and others), but I've been advocating this change sine the day they first announced the Apple/Frontier flights at CLE.

Every change is being driven by the need to be profitable and swings and roundabouts apply.
If Frontier/Republic had not lost scores of millions of dollars at MKE, things might have been different.
But it did.

Here is a, possibly confusing, response from Frontier:
So, it looks like Frontier thinks your corporate sites should be able to book Economy instead of Basic fares. This is different than what the banners on the Frontier site say since they say you can only get certain benefits by booking at FlyFrontier.com. I guess folks will have to see whether their corporate travel site actually does or not.
And then she also seems to be saying that elite members will still earn as if they booked Economy instead of Basic. Time will tell... Has any elites actually flown a Basic flight yet? What did you earn?

Most corporate travel agencies retain the ability to book our Economy, Classic, and Classic Plus fares, thereby allowing you to enjoy the same benefits as before.
Please remember, the new policies are associated with the fare type, not necessarily the physical booking location. Because OTA's pricing systems will find the lowest possible fare in a market, they will always price the Basic fare (cents cheaper than Economy). Therefore, customers who choose to book through online travel sites will be limited to the benefits included with the Basic fare they purchase.
We hope you'll consider booking on our website when you can. When you can't, please make sure your agency knows to book your flights in Economy, Classic, or Classic Plus. The pennies difference between Basic and Economy fares shouldn't be enough to sway your employer with regards to ticket price, so it will boil down to personal preference.

Sometimes when I fly F9 as a Summit I'll purchase a ClassicPlus ticket for the additional status miles, which used to equal 50% of the miles travelled. On a recent flight using a C+ ticket, I received 75% more miles instead. F9's fare-options chart must contain the answer to my question. Anyone with some insight? I emailed F9 a few days ago, but haven't received a reply

I don't know if it was responsible for the extra miles, but there was a bonus offer of 5X miles for purchasing tickets with the F9 MasterCard.

You should know that at, at least, one Fortune 100 company booking through Carlson WagonLit, the corporate travel folks couldn't get the Economy prices to show instead of Basic. I don't know if it was technology or training...

Maybe I'm just slow, but has anyone figured out how to get the Concur website to book the Economy fare (or Classic/Classic+)? To me it looks like a search on the Concur website is just returning the lowest possible fare, and I can't figure out how to tell if it's basic or economy.

Looking at the past reservations, under the Frequent Flyer Information, it does show 'no' for Status. Strange...
Also strange is that they want you to use the flyfrontier.com website, but even though Republic plans on selling Frontier, the flyfrontier.com SSL certificate shows Republic as the SSL owner (with Frontier in parentheses) and expires in 2014. Disconnect between management and IT, it seems.
