WiFi
Enroute on F9 1455 LGA-MKE on an E190 with WiFi as we speak:
(1) $4.95, which based on LGA-MKE being 738 miles I thought was up a tier in price.
(2) WiFi was indicated by a decal next to the door, by seatback pocket cards, and by an F/A announcement.
(3) Connection was relatively simple, but it did require setting up an account before putting in credit card information.
(4) Is responding with decent speed. I've not used WiFi onboard before so I'm not sure how fast "normal" is, however it's not uncomparable to what's often in hotel rooms. Fairly good speed, but not as fast as at home and sometimes a bit hit-and-miss on speed. I pulled up a Youtube music video and it did not come fast enough to play right away beyond the first few seconds. But I paused it for perhaps 45 seconds and it loaded fully, allowing me to play it right through.
I believe we're on N163HQ, with Red Fox on the tail. FYI, this plane is all 2x2 including the Stretch section.

I have used gogo frequently on DL & FL and had similar experiences with video.
As for the price, that's actually a notch cheaper than what I've paid on other carriers.
On DL, however, they have 30 minutes for free this month courtesy of ebay.

knope2001, any idea of what the seat pitch was on STRETCH on that aircraft? Is the pitch ~36" with the galley taking up space in the back of the plane?
As for Gogo WiFi, I've used it on two segments (DEN_CLT, CLT-MCO) for US Airways (A321). I'd say it's comparable to your average 3G connection, which makes sense because it's off of EvDO.
Pricing-wise, the service is supposed to be $4.95 for flights up to 1.5 hours, $9.95 for 1.5-3 hours and $12.95 for flights above three hours. Or if your airline (e.g. DL, VX, FL) supports it (as opposed to US Airways) you can get a day pass for $12.95, an option I'll be taking advantage of on the 28th (DL PBI-ATL-DEN). So you got a deal on your flight.

Not positive -- we sat in exit row (which is technically Stretch now) because the only open pair was 1D and 1F. Pitch was comparable to what I've had on all-2x2 E190 before, which seems a notch better than the Stretch pitch on the former-US birds with 1x2 front section.

It might be the design of the seats versus the actually inches, but the leg room on the 1x2 ex-US E190's is generous but not remarkable in my book (how are those for precise adjectives??) The perceived leg room in Stretch is better on the 2x2 planes IMHO.
The design of seats is tough to factor in, and it hurts the usefulness of sites like seatguru, unfortunately. A difference of 2 or perhaps even 3 inches in pitch could be offset by differing design, or likewise two seats with identical pitch could have notably different legroom.

Makes sense. I've sat in 3A on a 1x2 flight before and had no complaints about legroom, but the seats definitely weren't slimline so you could probably eke out an inch or two more legroom while maintaining the same pitch...

Was on a wifi equipped plane Friday, they made the announcement for it but both my iPad and laptop could not find the gogoinflight network. Appears there are some kinks to work out.

When I flew on US earlier this year (they don't honor the WiFi day pass) I was on the same plane/flight number DEN-CLT-MCO and was allowed to keep using the WiFi after the CLT stop.

For February, the first 30 minutes of WiFi is free...
http://www.frontierairlines.com/flig...rtainment/wifi
Under the pricing section it mentions that a new monthly pass for $24.95 is coming soon. IMHO they should also clearly state one-time rates. When you click and look around for pricing, seeing $24.95 as the only number mentioned suggests that it's the only option...and clearly that's a high-price turn off to anyone who doesn't do a lot of E190-specific flying.

not impressed
I remember using gogo once about a year ago on a different carrier, but I had my first experience with it tonight on my flight from Denver to Provo. Rather than connect with my laptop, I connected with my HTC Sensation (yes, I had wi-fi on, but my actual cellular signal turned off). Connecting was pretty painless, but the speed wasn't fast enough for me to do anything beyond basic web surfing. I couldn't pull up youtube videos and definitely couldn't do Hulu+. The Facebook app for Android worked, but was pretty slow.
Ultimately, it was fun to tweet from thousands of feet up, but short of checking headlines and an email or two, it just wasn't a good enough service that I would consider paying for it. Considering how slow the network was, I'd definitely think twice before connecting my laptop to a vpn to try to get actual work done on a flight.
