need Sim card in France for AT&T GoPhone
We will be in France, coming from the States, in 2 weeks and are thinking of getting a French Sim card to put into our AT&T GoPhone. I spoke with an AT&T cellphone rep here, and she tried to be helpful but I ended up being a tad confused. She gave me a # code to unlock our phone, then a # to activate the Sim card we purchase in France. She sounded iffy as to the process. Any ideas of the cost of a card? Could we expect to pay 15 or 20 euros for a card and be ready to go? The phone would have minimal usage, if any at all. And no international calls.
Just realized this should be posted in the France forum, I do not know how to change it over.

Do you need a Simcard for Internet or for Phone Calls?
I you need a Simcard for Phone Calls i know its verry hard to find a cheap one. Last year i ask someone in an German Cell Phone Forum and the say it better to use Roaming than an local Simcard.

If you have time to order a SIM card from Le French mobile, that is an easy option because it comes already activated
Sim cards are readily available to purchase in France. (See the link that Nicolas posted above.) But it can be a bit confusing to activate them.

For my upcoming leisure trip to Europe, I purchased a Telestial Passport Sim Card:
http://www.telestial.com/view_product.php?ID=MSIM-PP02
Can be used in many countries.
Cost was $60 for $30 worth of minutes = approx. 60 minutes (@ 0.49 per minute).
Comes with both a US and a UK (Country Code 44) number.
