I would assume the various African airlines servicing CAN is due to it being the city with the most African workers and business going on between China and Africa?

China is investing heavily in Africa in order to secure rights to natural resources. No idea how much demand that actually drives, though. But certainly some.

WB kind of already serving the KGL-CAN route, with some sort of ticket co-op with CZ. Perhaps CZ is cancelling that.
Or perhaps BOM has something to do with it, this seems they are just adding the BOM-CAN on top.

So tonight first ever scheduled night service to Japan from HEL as AY67 (OH-LTU) departs to KIX 00:45 local time.

And 4 long hauls in AY's midnight wave tonight:

AY 99 HEL-HKG
AY131 HEL-SIN
AY143 HEL-BKK
AY 67 HEL-KIX

Leaving aside SIN that's simply too far to make a 24-hour turn-around. Those HKG, BKK and KIX schedules do not make very good use of the expensive machinery... Should we expect more widebodies to Europe if there are four of them available in the morning? Does this work with only 19 planes after the A333 are retired?

In good old days (MD-11 days) AY 67/68 was nonstop service during summer schedule to HKG. Later then it was CAN and now it's KIX.

That is höpö-höpö.

AY67/68 was to HKG also when operated by proper aircraft (=A340) in the afternoon wave only. The flight number was changed to AY69 when moved to the midnight departure and AY61/62 was then the additional summer departure in the afternoon.

MD11 CAN was AY87/88.

First HKG nonstop service AY67/68 started 31MAY05 with M11 (3 weekly services)

A340 was höpöhöpö.

AY7245. Interesting choice of flight number. Shouldn't these be special services, not earning any AY+ points?

Those 7xxx's are additional flights and scheduled flights so earnings are normal.
