That sounds very scary. Imo ay+ is currently quite fine. Only things that I see that could be improved (easily) are oneway oneworld award flights and value-like tickets on JV destinations. Currently it is quite bothersome to get 100% earning tickets to eg. Japan.

Actually I am not scared there will be enhancements since the program is no way too generous to push for enhancements. Rather the opposite.

What IS scary that they are going to fix something that is not broken. AY plus is IMO the best as it is now, despite some thigs we complain about.

I believe this would be at least the addition of ”Lumo” tier as well as most probably Lifetime Silver, finally a LT status in my reach.

Upgrades with points on other OW carriers would be nice.

I am fine as long as they don't start to play with Avios Mickey Mouse currency (which is very unlikely though)
OTOH "fantastic new improvements" sounds like any other AY superlative we have seen recently, bringing no extra value for higher tiers.

Sounds very coherent.
Last time it was ”incredible”, turned out nothing unbelievable
Now it is fantastic”, turns out to be a fantasy perk

It would be splendid, but I don't think it would be feasible. Are there any OW carriers that allow upgrading other OW carriers' flights?

Best enhancement for me would be lifetime platinum after 10 years of status

This sounds to me that AY Plus might go revenue-based like Flying Blue and Miles and More just recently did.

I would imagine they want to do that but I cannot see that AY IT could handle such a move 😂😂

Hard to imagine alot of Plats surviving in a revenue model, AY plus is not that rewarding as it is... This is of course just my opinion then again were FB or M&M either....

And as discussed here already a couple of times, AY+ is to some extent already revenue based with the ticket types.

Ticket types are only small part of it.
If I can fly Plat less than 2500€, ticket types are useless and cant control money loyal tier customer using.

It must be turned around: Airline setting level like 15000€ they need annual income from Plat customer to cover all Plat benefits.

Norwegian Reward makes this right, they give benefit strictly by used money (CashPoints). Old system like AY has, it's insane. I can fly to Asia under 500€ and I get 25000 points. And points based on distance, not for used money. Why distance????
If I fly OUL and back for 500€ (H) I'll get 3750 points and this might be right ratio for airline.

Absolutely sick system for airline but great for customers who know this game. But it wont be like this for long!
