I would be pulling my hair out sat in any lounge for 6 hours. As long as you can enter the UK there are lots of things you can do quite close by. Off the top of my head I can think of going to Windsor for a walk around, Kew Gardens, and if a plane spotter go to Myrtle Avenue.

There is a thread here which has other suggestions http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/u-k-i...do-thread.html

Is this another new additon to the English language, following the success of kalsarikännit?

Basically agree, but the amount of salad you could imbibe during this wait mitigates the hair-pulling urges

Basically synonyms. The other happens at home while the other at some public place

And there are different versions on the päiväkänni:

- seitinohut ranskalainen päiväkänni
* this one should be acquired by drinking champagne
- köydenohut suomalainen päiväkänni
* this one should be acquired by multiple salads (Karhu/Karjala/Lapin Kulta/Finnish bulk beer)
- vaijerinohut puolalainen päiväkänni
* this one should be acquired with vodka
I don't mind sitting some hours in lounge as in reality the "tehokas peliaika" is closer to 4 hours when taking into consideration time needed from T3 to T5 and time to get to boarding gate before flight.

We are now slowly drifting towards höpöhöpö here.

In lesser/lighter cases "päiväkänni" should be replaced with "päiväpöhnä" to indicate that operation capability has not been reduced meaningfully.

At ORD AY should simply move its departure to T3, also used by AB. There are two Admirals Clubs and even one - though quite small - Flagship Lounge for Plats and OWEs. After all, there is only one AY departure a day.

Maybe there's not enough time to move the plane between terminals between arrival and departure?

So from BA to AA at T3, should I try to sneak in to CX F or stick to AA F?

CX F, for sure. Also, the new QF lounge is supposed to open soon. Would try checking that out as well, if open.

Any news on that one? Haven't heard anything about that for a while now. And when searching for some info on it about a month ago, nothing new came up either...
