Finnair sells "ticket types" instead of booking classes. The various ticket types can overlap in booking class, but they differ in service level and fare terms.
The ticket types are not sold on destinations covered by joint ventures, ie Japan and NA.

Economy tickets:
Light: Z, O, Q, N, S, V, L
Basic: Z, O, Q, N, S, V, L
Value: Z, O, Q, N, S, V, L, K, M
Pro: Y, B, H

[P, T, R and W Economy class fares have been removed in April 2019 in preparation for the launch of Premium Economy in 2021.]
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finn...-2021-a-2.html

Premium Economy (from 2021):
P, T, R, W

Business Saver: I (long-haul)
Business: J, C, D (and I for shorthaul in Europe)

Economy award: X
Premium economy award & upgraded: F
Business award & upgraded: U

Light is a handbag-only fare, currently only offered in shorthaul operations (Europe and Middle East).
In addition to the above six fare families there is one additional ticket type called Saver, which contains restricted starting-from fares in the lowest booking classes in fares from Asia and North America.

Can you tell us what travel agent this was?

This is getting more and more interesting. If VA fares to Japan not only exists within a specialised business area but also is available for a wider range of TA bookings, then I do wonder what is going on.

Also, a number of people here has access to EF, so it would be interesting if someone can find the fare rules for this VA-fare!

Very interesting indeed. Maybe some kind of mix-up at CWT... Namely, being a civil servant Im also forced to use CWT for business trips. That GOV fare basis is indeed for government travels and is based on Hansel agreements.

My employer (a higher education institution) also handles many of its acquisitions through Hansel, but I've never encountered a GOV fare basis before.

Is there a way to know Fare basis for a reservation made through OTA ? Reservation only shows 'O' class. All flights are ticketed on AY code, some operated by QF. Just wanted to know if it is basic or value.

It depends on the OTA. Some show it in details, some don't.

Is it 105 stock?
Sometimes you can pull the resevation on Finnair MMB and even print the e-ticket.

I once had an OTA not even specifying business class on confirmation page, was pretty upset until I found it on AY MMB.

Yes it is 105 stock. However, MMB does not allow me pull/print e-ticket receipt.

Do you see the booking on AY but not the fare or is it that you can't get it up at all on AY?
If you can't see it at all on AY, Is is a case of not having the correct ref?
Do you have e-tix #?
Can you add the booking to the app?
Can you get the OTA to add your AY+# to booking (because then AY+ pages usually finds the booking)

If you can see the booking but not the code, get OTA or AY to send you the full fare rules. In there will be fare code.

Yes, I have e-ticket, booking is added to the app, booking can be seen on MMB but I can not see the fare basis code. Only thing I can see about fare is class O.
Thanks for the tip, I will ask AY to send me the fare rules.

There was a trick where you could pull any reservation via e-ticket-numer on saudia.com but it has been blocked. Also, amadeus have done a pretty good job in killing off any system accessing someone elses reservations, ie MyFlightsApp and so on, so in this case the airline and the OTA are the only two venues I know about.

Sure! This URL has been my saviour after MyFlights was killed. Pretty sure Amadeus will shut this down soon, though.

Qatar Airways might also work for tickets issues by Oneworld carriers.
