Finnair sells "ticket types" instead of booking classes. The various ticket types can overlap in booking class, but they differ in service level and fare terms.
The ticket types are not sold on destinations covered by joint ventures, ie Japan and NA.

Economy tickets:
Light: Z, O, Q, N, S, V, L
Basic: Z, O, Q, N, S, V, L
Value: Z, O, Q, N, S, V, L, K, M
Pro: Y, B, H

[P, T, R and W Economy class fares have been removed in April 2019 in preparation for the launch of Premium Economy in 2021.]
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finn...-2021-a-2.html

Premium Economy (from 2021):
P, T, R, W

Business Saver: I (long-haul)
Business: J, C, D (and I for shorthaul in Europe)

Economy award: X
Premium economy award & upgraded: F
Business award & upgraded: U

Light is a handbag-only fare, currently only offered in shorthaul operations (Europe and Middle East).
In addition to the above six fare families there is one additional ticket type called Saver, which contains restricted starting-from fares in the lowest booking classes in fares from Asia and North America.

Missing W for Campaign? Also presumably A and G, though I don't recall seeing them lately.

Could maybe add explain the fare basis to differentiate ticket types, also?

Was just checking some availabilities on Expertflyer and have noticed that there is a booking class "E" for AY flights. And while the normal, cheapo Y booking classes are all zeroed out or some of them even closed, this one is listed last in the list and there is still availability.

Any of you might know what kind of ticket books into "E" class? Does it earn anything to AY+? BTW, this is only out of curiosity...

Hi

I am offered a Y to Business class upgrade for my incoming flight.
In the wiki, this relates to F class.

But my OW program (QF) does not list F as a qualifying fare for status and mileage.
If I do accept, do you know if my booking will go to F then losing whatever status credit and mileage that my original Y ticket was commanding ?

Thx for your insight !

You will receive miles according to your original booking class. However, with partner programmes you might need to retroclaim and explain the situation. Ultimately, however, you will get the miles, no worries.

I believe this is the non-rev "fare". So no earnings and no way to get it.

Yep, a non-revenue fare for various travel industry rates ie. OTA's, staff rates etc.
No earnings, miles/points/sectors - nada.

The guide is missing A, W and G, the Campaign Ligth and Campaign Basic fares, earning 25%.

What am I missing here since Expertflyer won't show me anything when I search for U & F? Not even the 0 for a class that I'm used to with AA's C bucket

Expertflyer can't see Finnair F or U availability. Experflyer claims to be able to see X though

F is easily found with Finnair's own search engine. The award classes can also be found at finnair.com but the search is pretty bad.

EF gets X yes, no idea if their info is correct or not but they show X nevertheless.

Hello,

I am a newbie here so forgive me if this may sound stupid. I am booking a "Value" ticket from Dublin to Helsinki. I want to check what fare this is as in the letter. I need it to be either K, M, P or T. I can't seem to find anything when I am making a booking.
