Redeemed suite upgrade cert, reservation not updated?

Hi all,
I redeemed a suite upgrade cert today for a stay next year, but the reservation details when I pull the res online still shows the original room booked.

Is this normal? I cannot recall from past cert use.

That's quite common IME. The Fairmont IT system is far from perfect.

Sometimes the res is updated, sometimes it isn't.
Sometimes I get an e-mail showing the upgraded room/suite category, sometimes I don't.

If you want to be 100% sure, I'd suggest sending the hotel an e-mail.

It's 50/50 for me. Sometimes it shows up, sometimes it doesn't.

I haven't had a reservation show the upgraded room online in a few years. If you call in and explain your concern, they will agree it's a known problem and send you a confirmation by e-mail that shows the upgrade.

I can confirm that this happened to me last week. Upgraded to a suite with a certificate but online registrations was still showing normal room. Called in and was assured that I was booked in a suite.

Got my early arrival e-mail today showing confirmation in a suite.

I've never had upgrades show up online, but they're always there when we check in.
