Gary has 30,000 on his email list. If site views dropped to nil he’d be fine, he doesn’t need the ad revenue.
On our supermarket loyalty site, email (based on opens) is 5x desktop readership by article. HFP is roughly 50/50 unless a desktop article goes viral.

I for one hope the blogs never go away.
Not because of the new content, much of which is garbage (anyone who subscribes to these blogs has got to be a masochist!), but because their utility comes from google. When I want to book a certain airline or hotel or decide which airline lounge to visit when I have choices at an airport, I can google up photos and comparison shop among premium products. In fairness, Ben's blog has FAR greater utility in this area than Gary's because of his photo-taking OCD.
So even if they stop publishing new 'content' (sponsored or otherwise) I sure hope they leave their archives intact. ^

Like, say, three years from now, I'll want to know about various ways to get through airport security, so I'd Google "Man Uses Magazine Cover as ID for Airport Security" and see what I get.
Thankfully, Gary will have me 'covered'!

Did I miss something? Or did GTL? No word from him yet on the Qatar devaluation? The MASSIVE, NO NOTICE devaluation? If this had been BA or Delta or AA, he would have ripped them up and down within 12 hours of the announcement.
Given the theme of his recent CC posts, I guess I should just wait for the article describing how Qatar's FF program is underappreciated. . .

When he takes a breather from selling credit cards...he finds time to post breaking news like this these days:

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems the theme of the 21st Century is overpromising yet underdelivering. Yet, the Great Thought Leader remains surprised. . .

I have to say I got a kick out of this with the well-placed Airplane! gif and War Games clip. Man what a debacle at PSA.
