Note that siteanalytics just shows US stats. If you open a free adplanner account on Google Adsense you can dig deeper into any sites regional split. AFAIK FT is 60% US, rest global, with the UK dominating.

I read and post on both FT and MP - I find each offers good information. I don't like the large/old info threads on FT either as i feel not that welcoming. On MP, I've met good folks offline at meetups that are now friends -

The traffic is not that great at Milepoint.
If you have any question regarding miles or points, you can
get much quicker response on FT.

I thought this was an entertaining example of how how bad Milepoint really is: Gary posted this useful piece today about Alaska opening up partner award searching. But he credits the find to Milepoint, with a link to a thread with ONE POST. It's like one guy stuck on a remote island talking to himself. Of course the real source is FT, where there is an active discussion that started long before the solitary post on MP.

I appreciate Gary has equity in MP so he has to pump his own book, but frankly I think that's stock I'd be dumping at this point.

I signed up the day MilePoint opened for business. I thought it would be an addition to my web travels as I gathered information for future trips.

In the old days on Flyertalk (I'm here since 2000), this place was quiet. I was member ~3300. Back then, FT was really building up steam. We were bonding.

I've tried starting some threads on MilePoint, but they don't seem to get traction. I even posted BRT's on MilePoint, and still no action. It's not like I didn't try.

In my humble opinion, MilePoint is dominated by MegaDo threads and Penalty Box threads. Nothing wrong with that. But as the old gal Clara use to say Where's the beef? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug75diEyiA0

If you were to ask me, I think that the MP founders are hoping the above MegaDo and Lounge threads morph into something.

I consider myself loyal to Randy. I'm here (and you too) because of him. My first travel love is still Flyertalk.

Why is JonNYC banned..?

You can ask him yourself over here:

We can't discuss it here because it's a "moderation action".

I noticed that too, but didn't want to point it out because I am kind of neighbors with Gary and don't want him to think it's personal.

But I am glad I am not the only one who noticed!

Here is where FT posters scooped MP posters by 6 or so hours (and it was more than just an echo chamber): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/alask...e-booking.html

Good info. Thanks to Koko and others for scooping MP.
Having said that, hope that Randy and friends are safe in COS tonight. Good luck.

Surprised by August stats. One would think the SMD giveaways would have boosted traffic:
