1st flight into LAX will land around 5 pm, earlier than usual, for "visibility" reasons obviously

Actually it will be B12 with an ETA of 1405L.
The party will start around 1600.

Yes it is coming in earlier for lighting.

And I think the Chairman of the Board (K Chang) is one of the pilots.

Just landed a while ago. I grabbed the image from the LAX TBIT construction webcam.

I guess today also marks the official opening of the upgraded TBIT at LAX, right? I wonder if that is why they picked today...

The characters look like squashed Y pax wishing they could jump on the LH 74(4?8?) for more room. I feel your pain, dear Daniel and Badtz-Maru.

The funny part is that the Hello Kitty 777 landing at LAX is getting more press coverage than the new terminal opening.

I'm sure that was the idea. All the press was at LAX for the TBIT opening so EVA could get some free press at no extra costs.

See?

I was watching the local news on TV and they had 15 second segment on the new Westfield LAX mall @ TBIT, and then spend the next 30 seconds showing footage of the arrival of Kitty jet.

I saw a decent length article on it (probably 3 minute segment) on the news last night! Toured the new TBIT on Tuesday. It's quite nice, but I will reserve my final judgment until everything is open and I have flown out of it...today.
