But Kitty has a completely different cultural context in Taiwan so it's not usual for serious business to want to be associate it with it.

Some of us collect airline stuff and we just can't help it
If you have been to an airline collectable show, you will know what I am talking about... I personally would not take blankets and pillows because you don't know where they have been and that is a little excessive.When I went to an aviation industry show in China in the 90s, a company was even selling store anti-theft devices as people were stealing lifevests from the planes. I bet if EVA had Hello Kitty life vests, they would be all gone
Of course, no life vest = no departure so that would not be smart to do.

The fat cats over at EVA might think their hare-brained hairball of a branding initiative is just the cat's meow, but I think a $50 million airplane should not look like a toddler's toy. In Royal Laurel class, the businessmen are so upset by being ingested by a giant flying feline that they don't even cat-call the flight attendants anymore. And just catty-corner away, over in economy class, there's not even enough room to swing a dead cat.
I'd love to have been in the boardroom when the CEO let this cat out of the bag. He might like to think he's just the cat's pajamas, but a taste of my tongue (everyone says it's as sharp as a cat-o-nine-tails) would have made him think twice about this monstrosity of a branding idea that the cat dragged in. You know me - I don't play cat and mouse, I go straight for the kill. Oh, he would have felt like a cat on a hot tin roof, after I got done with him, let me tell you. Like they say, the cat's always very dignified until the dog comes by.
All I can say is, I'm flabbergasted. The cat has definitely caught my tongue.

I realize this sort of post might make some people catatonic, but I find it cathartic, and I hope all this serves as some sort of catalyst for change. But for now I'd better stop my caterwauling, because I'm too busy to waste my time with this: I have to pack for my trip to the Catskills.

LAX is pretty well documented by plane spotters. I'm sure they'll get lots of pictures of it when it is landing and while it is at the party. Plus you got people like SpeedbirdHD shooting youtube videos at LAX all the time.

Good news for those who don't like Kitty - apparently this plane has more than just Kitty It has "Hello Kitty、丹尼爾、美樂蒂、酷洛米、Little Twin Stars、大耳狗喜拿、布丁狗、酷企鵝等19位知名的卡通肖像" - 19 Sanrio characters.... I guess most of us have no idea what they are. I think "丹尼爾" is Dear Daniel - Kitty's boyfriend.
EVA news release said that this one is done via paint rather than stickers as the plane will be in the air much longer and they were not sure if the stickers would work.

BR 16 TPE-LAX: Wed, Fri, Sun
BR 15 LAX-TPE: the return flight - Wed/Fri/Sun on winter schedule and Thu/Sat/Mon on non-winter schedule
Stupid schedule - it will be dark in LAX the whole time it is there. How is that going to generate publicity?
Amazingly, I happen to have a booking on one of the BR 15s in November

This sensitive and naïve boy finds wonder in even the smallest things, and pays special attention to how he looks – very trendy! Daniel and Kitty have known each other since they were babies, but he went to Africa with his father who is a photographer. After traveling the globe, Daniel finally left from New York to return to meet Kitty again. He still hasn’t lost any of his dancing skills!
