Business seating, 2 class 777

Our flight DUB - DXB EK162 next month has been changed to a 2 class 777. I had chosen 6J and 6K but in this new configuration they seem to be in a mini cabin with just one row of seats. The only option left (other than middle seats) is 1A and 1B - Are there any pros or cons to sticking with row 6 or moving to row1?
Thanks

imho it's worse than a mini cabin - it is literally just a row between a bulkhead and the Y cabin curtain. You can feel easily forgotten in there!

1A/B is next to door 1L - it's a bulkhead but the galley is on the other side of the aircraft, so less noise. imho, 1A/B is superior.

What about the 2-class where there's the open area with snacks instead of the galley? On a seat map they'd probably look almost identical and in such a config that single row isn't bad at all

I think I'll move to row 1. I'm a bit miffed (in a 'I know I can't do anything about it sort of way') that I didn't spot this earlier.
I'd usually go with the flow but this is our honeymoon and I'm probably trying too hard to get everything just right!

Think it's difficult to tell without knowing the specific a/c which he won't before the day, so 1A/B is a safer bet imho.

Could always move on the day if there's space!

Think that's what I'll do.

Thanks to you both for the input.

Agree it's the safer choice. Also always nice to be in row 1 :D

Just curious if there's a difference on the seat map to distinguish as it makes a big difference. That open area makes the J cabin feel really nice and airy. Similar to the EY A330 J cabin, but even bigger.

Decision made for me! The app wont let me choose Row 1 as they are bassinetts and/or I have no status!
I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's the layout that Skywardhunter referred to.

My wife-to-be will tell me that it's only 7 hours and there are a whole lot worse seats we could be in

Bulkhead seats usually require you to get to the airport early to claim them. Perhaps a call to them might get them assigned to you provisionally though!

Not sure if this is the right thread but is it possible to find availability in F class for flight EK 509 (BOM-DXB) on Aug 14 ?

Not even remotely the right thread, but it's F1 A0 P4 (not sure if P is actually First class but that's what EF says).

Thanks ! Could you please point me to the right thread (I searched and could not find it)

At the moment, I do not see any upgrades online. What are my chances of getting a paid upgrade during check-in if there is availability? Or does the booking class play a role - I have a Business Saver ticket (J) .

EK has F, A and Z not P anymore.

The above tells me there is one F seat left.

Not sure if there is one. Can always start a new thread. Paid upgrade possible anytime if there's a seat for sale, just call in. Miles upgrade becomes space available based at check in.

Make sure you bought your ticket direct and not through a TA. I bought through Amex Travel and it's not can not up grade to FC!
