Good to hear, as I am booked in 18H [prefer aisle] on MLE-DXB.

It was my oh that booked these as he is quite tall so extra legroom is quite an issue for him.
i am personally not that bothered but I could justify the cost by knowing we would be in a row of 2 rather than 3 😟 Row 67 is available but we didn't choose these due to them being next to the toilets. i just think that the cost is sooooo high that they should at least let you know that you may not get what you think you are getting.... 😡 If I hadn't posted on here I would have had no idea that the seat maps shown are not correct! I guess the the question is, what is the probability that we will have a 80a? Is it more likely than not, or is it easier to know the length of a piece of string. |

My calculations are 22 from 47 Non ULR frames have seats 80A and 80K. However, it's not that simple as I can see on Flightradar that the route sometimes uses LR frames. 17 from 38 (ish) of these have them, so overall, it's in your favour. What would you dislike most - another passenger next to you or being closer to the toilets? |

No "duo" seats at the back of the A380, only the B777s. There are pairs upstairs on the two class version of the A380, but they all have 80A and 80K so not the OP's flights.
Not familiar with Y cabins. This said, 80 B&C are sold as "extra legroom" seats, right ? Therefore, there is no ground for a formal complain if there is a 80A seat, as OP didn't buy "duo" seats, how disappointing it may be. |
Has anyone found the air con in the front A380 Y cabin a bit more overbearing than the other cabins?

There are pockets on the wall next to the vacant space.
In fact there is one pocket in the distance for 80C, and one on the wall for 80B, above the one for 81A (and vice versa on the other side). I'm not a huge fan of these seats, there is a lot of traffic in from of you at some points in the flight, but the legroom is good. |

Greetings - I'm visiting from my usual home on the BA forum :)
I'm booked on my first EK flight. Sadly it's LHR-DXB in Y (thanks to a cheap client) and I'm trying to figure out seats. As you might surmise, I like a window seat. I have no status, so I'll have to stump up if I want to pick a seat. So - what are the chances that I'll be able to grab a window seat at checkin, if I don't pay? I appreciate no-one can give me exact information, but if there's a decent chance of a selection of window seats left at that time, I might just risk it. |

Thanks for that. It sounds promising, although I note your caveat - should I be fussy where the seat is?
The regular seat fee isn't that much - is it worth paying to be nearer the front for example? Sorry to be so green - I haven't flown without the perks of status for years! |

It all depends on your personal preference, I guess. |
Good point!
Think I'll leave this one in the lap of the gods. How bad can it be? :D |
To follow up with a data point - when I checked in at T-48 there were two window seats left. I'm happy enough since I only need one, but it was a bit closer than I'd thought.
