Anyone know why I cant book seats 3E/F in first on the A380? It shows as a bassinet seat. Are those blocked off? Anyone have luck booking them by phone?

Yes you can book by phone but they will warn you that you wil be moved in the unlikely event of a baby needing the bassinet.

I've just had an equipment change on an upcoming flight from B777-300ER 3 Class to 2 Class. I'm booked in Business Class and have been moved from 7J as my original selection to 4J on the 2 class.

My previous recollections are not to choose Row 6 as it gets forgotten about by the crew. Is this still true on the newer layout with the more open plan area between 5 and 6?

I've also noticed a mention earlier not to choose Row 5, but no specific reason given. Any comments?

It seems early for changes for the Xmas rush, as my flight isn't until 10th December.

I booked 43H on A388 to SYD. This seems to be the first row in the lower deck. I need legroom.
Is this seat good?

Yes, it does have decent legroom though if you are unusually tall, you may want to choose one of the exit row seats though (68/81).

Hi there, just wondering how 18E and 18F and also 20E/F are like on a380? Especially for meal service? Sat in 14 E/F last time we flew and they ran out of some food options before they got to our seat, so had to take the only dish that was left......fish....yuk!
I have picked row 18 this time and my parents are in row 20, so hopefully they won't run out this time! Appreciate any feed back, cheers

You remembered right. ;)

Just confirming that in all 4 bassinet rows in 380 Y, the armrest between E and F is moveable. None of the armrests in the first row of each cabin from A-C or H-K or between D/E & F/G were though.

If I am not mistaken, the A-C/H-K first row seats seemed slightly narrower as well.

For my next flight which is IAH-DXB in few days time, I cannot decide whether to got for a slight narrower 43H but with unlimited legroom & next to a bassinet, or a 47H with less legroom but a bit wider.

The mrs and I were in 18E/F two weeks ago (EK007). We got the food we wanted, but I did not ask if there was anything they did not have anymore..
I got the impression (but not confirmed), that row 16 or 18 was the start of the service for the second 'pair' of FA's and that therefore you get a relatively early service. I am sure there are many more experienced EK J fliers here to confirm or deny that, I only do the CPT/DXB/LHR R/T once a year.

Which are the best seats for couples in F on the A380 please?
Is there a partition you can wind up and down in E and F seats like in J?
Sorry if this has been answered before but am having trouble with my internet and cant read through all the posts.
Thanks!

All e/f seats are good - nothing much to differentiate one row from the other. Yes, there is a partition that you can lower but it doesn't go down all the way - there is a small part that is still protruding. You can get a sense here:

Many thanks jackiedada - that looks interesting.
We have booked 2K and 3K - need to decide whether to change now.
In J we always book the E and F seats but the EK guy this morning couldn't tell me if there was a partition in the F seats.
I am tempted by the window seats for a change..........

Row 2 is the best

I agree with m3red. Take row 2. Row 3 has a camera on the roof and I find that creepy.

Hi All

Just noticed on MMB that my 77W flight DXB-GLA has been changed to a two class bird with lie flat seats.

Any thoughts on 1K in J class?

I've had the same change on a GLA-DXB in a few weeks. I've gone for 4J.

1J is a bassinet which is always a risk. I'm not sure about the 2 class, but Row 1 may well have the TV screen on the bulkhead which I'm not keen on.
