I've had the same change on a GLA-DXB in a few weeks. I've gone for 4J.
1J is a bassinet which is always a risk. I'm not sure about the 2 class, but Row 1 may well have the TV screen on the bulkhead which I'm not keen on. I took 2 a and b for my downgraded HKT flight! |
Can someone post a link to the A380 2 class seat plan please? It is not on the EK site or EK Source (and forget seat guru)
and I read somewhere that J is between two sections of Economy on the top deck, if so and the rear bar is still there-how do they restrict it to J class pax? SSF (a repost as my original was in the wrong thread) |

Silverswimmer : you can read a useful briefing on the two-class A380, along with detailed seat map, in this piece from Australian Business Traveller

eternal beats me to it by one minute ......!!!
(I will comfort myself with the thought that great minds think alike ......;)) |
Thanks Folks
Will just stick with 6K (the very mini-J cabin) which was re-assigned to me after the 3 class to 2 class swap. Still the same gamble with it being next to a bassinet but I like my window seats and 6K or 1K were the only ones to select from. Fingers crossed I don't get shuffled to a middle seat. Thanks lads- my BKK/DXB flight has been changed from 777 to A380 2 class and the seat map is there under "Manage my Booking-chose seats" but not yet in the fleet listing-sure to be there soon. SS |
Business class seats advice please
My wife and I are travelling from Manchester to Sydney via Dubai, we have selected our J seats as 12E/F for the first leg and 9E/F for the second and for the return flights.
On the Emirates booking site we are shown sat together ie with just the screen separating us, but on seat guru and another site the seats appear further apart, can anyone comment on the seats being together ie ideal for couples and also there location on the cabin. |

I agree with m3red. Take row 2. Row 3 has a camera on the roof and I find that creepy.
Whats the camera for in 3? |

Row 9 is of the first type, so OK for you. Row 12 is of the second type and you will struggle to communicate so I would suggest changing that one. Unfortunately you can't say that odd numbered rows are ok and even numbered rows are not as row 13 is missing so the 'rule' changes there.... We were in 18E/F a few weeks ago and it was perfect for us. |

If you look carefully at the seating chart, you will see that some E/F pairs have the minibar on the 'outside' (i.e. right next to the aisle) and others on the 'inside (i.e. in between you and your seat mate).

Thanks for the replies, I have noted the difference between the seats and the position of the armrest however on the Emirates website when I select my seats for the Manchester Dubai leg the 12 E/F seats appear together and the 9 E/F appear apart, where on the Dubai Sydney leg it's the opposite way round, so I am assuming that the aircraft are a different configuration. Re the post above on the my booking page on the configuration it is showing, there is no row 18 ?anyone any ideas.
Would it be worth ringing or e mailing Emirates to confirm, but of course they can change aircraft without consultation anyway. |
