No - but I didn't ask for First Class Water either but was just happy with the Premier Cru Wine that was being served.

Not bad if it was First Class Premier Cru. But no Evian water? What kind of VIP Reception is that? That must have completely ruined the experience!

Serious question for the OP, were you flying with unaccompanied minor service? That might explain your horrid treatment by the meer peasant servants.

(it would also explain sugar and hot chocolate)

It did. I won't go to the same one again but try a different one instead.

They had no right to treat me like this in the first place. Oh well, they lost me as a first class passengers, there are plenty of other airlines out there with better service and cheaper fares
Just out of curiosity what airline do you consider to have better service?

You could have made the change by telephone - you choose not to use the telephone - why should there be any expectation that the airline pay for an unnecessary journey to an office?

So why do you not just fly Qatar ? It seems that Emirates does not meet your needs

Water is water - so what that about brand ?

Even if it's fake, it's one of the best online parodies of a spoiled and entitled Middle Easterner. All that's missing is a post complaining about how his maid asked for a day off when sick. But then again, maybe it's the dedication to complaining about completely random and minor travel-related things that makes it seem so authentic

(ps: I think there are also posts on airliners.net, including one where he wrote a bad review of Cathay Pacific for not letting him open the window blind when other passengers were sleeping)

I will not compromise on my CC details due to the incompetence of the airline. It's their job to provide world-class service rather than spending budget on marketing to deceive passengers. It's simple, you can't run first class service? Don't sell first-class service in the first place.

The airline that provides the best value for your money. Airlines like Srilankan (but they have very bad IFE) and Oman Air (they don't serve many destinations.)

Again, I will not compromise on my CC security due to the incompetence of the airline. Don't sell first class service if you can't provide it.

I don't fly QR since I don't get what I paid for.

Water is not just water. Different brands have different quality. Personally I prefer to drink Evian water since the taste is so pure

Can't believe this!! Was recently in an area with no phone service and limited internet access yet was still able to contact Emirates about my booking (sorry biz saver, not first) and make changes (via internet chat) - and yes, got my upgrade to F!!! Even though, because of my location, I had very limited contact potential, I was still able to accomplish what I needed. Certainly no way of driving to any EK office. It reminds me of the complaint made to the National Parks service that they don't position the bears close enough to the road!!!

I see a long laundry lists of complaints, actually lots of complaints. But specifically about Emirates from you. So it begs the question, why do you continue to fly them?

Handing your card over to someone in person is probably a greater fraud risk than giving your cc details to a global airline's call center agent. Regardless, it's the bank that would lose the money, not you. At most you risk a hassle, which is what I would call having to go somewhere via taxi simply to avoid giving a cc number over the phone.

I can only surmise you have a low quality credit card run by a less than first class bank or credit card issuer. Top quality credit cards are not compromised by using them over the phone.

As a PS, even when you go in person, you do realize the person working there sees your credit card number etc, and it could be compromised that way as well.
