Most likely you will have the old F

Changed SEA-DXB. But is it literally last minute? Is there anyway to know in time to book an award?

Once the incoming flight has left DXB, you can use Flightradar24 to see the registration. There simply is no earlier option to know this. You can then use This link to look up the configuration (you will find that EQH to EQP have new F).
But I think that would normally be too late to book an award (I recall that the normal way to book awards closes at T-48 but I may be wrong in that). You could contact the call centre at that stage to see if they can assist you.

Edit to add: SEA/DXB has been flown with old F for at least the last month. See: Here

Actually using AS miles, I’ve booked 4 hours before an EK departure from BCN-SEA

None of the US routes get new F as a policy. They get it occasionally and randomly, you can't know before the aircraft leaves DXB

I get it, it’s complete luck of the draw. But is there a way to see once the plane does leave DXB? You could book an AS award in F if you know the plane and what route and where it’s headed.

As thijsseh mentioned, you can check the registration of the aircraft on FR24 after it departs from DXB, 777-300ERs from A6-EQH all the way till A6-EQP have the new F cabin.

Look at my post #693 above. You can use that information to search all US destinations. Although we are generally quite helpful here, there is a limit to what we can do. ;) :o

Agreed it’s so boring, if you want new F fly one of the advertised routes but don’t expect to be able to get a cheap Alaska redemption.

You had a better chance IMO with IAH considering it had regular scheduled service with the new F

No this wasn’t to try and get lucky with the new F. It was just a scheduling thing.

If one had the time to monitor all the 777’s with a new F configuration you could theoretically speaking find an AS redemption and figure out where the new F flight would be and get there with enough time. As I said I booked an EK F award with 3 hours advance notice from BCN-LAX. Unfortunately I have a life and work... pity.
