Not a huge deal but I was surprised since I’ve never had them run out of an option before. I did sleep for the first 8hrs of the flight so that may have played a part in it. And the rest of the menu looked pretty meh so most pax may have chosen the chicken.
As a regular on 203/ 204, I can easily recall a couple of times when they ran out of items, especially those that are chicken/ lamb based. Nowadays, I typically tell the FA to reserve dishes that have caught my fancy early on into the flight. Just saves the frustration and time later on into the flight.

DXB-LAX

Full F, but not many people drinking P2. Proactively offered either P2 or regular Dom. Had the last full glass of P2 one hour before landing.

Only other one that I've tried: Château Léoville Poyferré 2005.

I wasn't a big fan of the DVO on my prior flights

Got the privilege to fly EK F game changer DXB ORD recently and they had the P2 onboard - it wasn’t listed on the menu before or onboard.

They didn’t have any vintage wines on concourse A - same as what you got on the flight - 2005 Poyferre.

No other vintage on board so managed to polish this entire bottle for myself.

Flying from ORD on Jan 27, not a fan of Champagne and hoping for a change from current offerings of red wines. Hoping for Chateau Mouton or Opus, Chateau Angelus at worst but will make do with DVO and Chateau Leoville poyferre

A friend just sent me this pic from today's DFW-DXB. And offered pre-departure at the gate.

Haven’t seen the Mouton/Opus/Angelus for a while so I wouldn’t hold my breath. The LP is very nice, but a step down for sure.

Spending quite a long time in the First lounge on Thursday for the first time in a couple of years.

Has anyone spotted any good wines in the lounges? Which concourse should have the best selection?

Not sure anything will be as good as the 2006 Haut-Brion which is on the menu for my flight to BRU...

No way to predict. It's a crap shoot from day to day. If you like the exercise and, as you say, have a long time, you can do them all and report on your findings.......although it will probably not be as good as the 2006 HB. Enjoy!

If it is available onboard, then you may be able to find an open bottle somewhere. They offload opened bottles and they end up in the lounges.

To keep this up to date, the Dom P2 is gone since mid/late January.

The truly excellent 2003 Hermitage La Chapelle by Paul Jaboulet is now on many Asia routes, alongside the equally stunning 2005 Montrose. Two real treats, get the crew to open them asap!

The London route continues to feature the excellent 2013 Domaine Des Perdrix, but is otherwise less exciting. At least it seems that we finally got rid of the 2012 and 2015 Louis Latour Corton Charlemagne (which were pretty bad on release, let alone now).

Always so much fun for a wine lover to fly on Emirates, it makes an insane travel schedule way more bearable.

Looking forward trying both red ones mentioned above next week...

Had the 2008 DP Rose about a week ago from JFK — amazing stuff. Even better than the advertised 2009.

2005 Leoville Poyferre was also enjoyable, although not as much as the Mouton/Angelus/Montrose from the past year.

Good to hear there's still some "special" champagne on offer. Flying out of ORD on Wednesday, will report back.

Flying EK236 next week and the online wine list looks kind of boring. The only two F reds are the Leoville Poyferre and a Pharaohmoans? Napa blend. Cannot find any information on the Pharaohmoans.

Hoping for the onboard menu to be a little more exciting.
