From the seat map there are three seats in F, 1 in J and Y is full but as I have found recently this can change!

On your second flight there are 5 seats available in J, Y is full again subject to change..

Thanks Will! Did not even notice this thread :). Looks like there is no chance to get lucky from what I distill of this, better start preparing mentally for the horrors of a 10 row 777 in Y. So be it. ;)

It's actually about 32 rows or so, but all rows are 10-abreast. ;)

I'm on a 77W right now and the good news is that the WiFi is solid

It appears 77W is the way forward for solid WIFI..!

Can I please request a check for:

EK 435 BNE-DXB December 22 (tonight)
EK 624 DXB-LHE (December 23)

I have an economy flex ticket and am Skywards Gold. What would my chances be of getting an op-up especially on EK 435? I'm expecting EK 435 to be chockers with today being the last working day before the holidays.

Many thanks!

You'll likely never even notice the difference as most of the space is taken from the aisles rather than the seats. It's just here on FT that it's become such a catastrophe.

EK 10 abreast Y seats are not that bad. I’m 6ft 3in, (and not skinny). The caveat with bulkhead and exit seats are usually that these seats are not as wide due to fixed armrests. I did not find any issue with a bulkhead seat that I sat in so would assume that a standard seat with moveable armrests are not going to be as tight. As ft101 says, the space to fit those 10 seats in comes mostly from aisle space. Don’t fret too much about it. Thousands upon thousands of travellers fly on EK 77Ws daily in Y and a lot of them return for another go. Our very own Skywardhunter flies EK mostly on 77Ws in Y and chooses to do so on a regular basis despite having many other choices.

You are are going to have excellent IFE to while away the hours and crews down the back are good at getting you refills of drinks to keep you hydrated. Don’t fret about it.

EK435 doesn’t look as good as 624.

In DXB between two 77W flights in Y right now actually. Width isn't the issue, I find legroom in regular seats is less than A380 but it's manageable. Just did 9hrs in 19K and got another 3hrs to go in 19C

many thanks. You were right- no upgrade for EK 435. To my shock found out that they have scrapped the priority security departure cards for gold members- only for first/business pax from now on. Wonder what's next..

Last year I flew with KLM and it was terrible. They went 10 seats a row in a 777 and swore never again. The seats were too narrow for me, and I ain't no fatty. EK A380 is acceptable for me...

Didn't check the plane type while booking this EK flight. About to board, will see if the EK implementation is better than the KLM one, I am sitting in aisle though as I always prefer that.

Hi everyone.

I wonder of if someone could tell me what the flight EK406 is looking like on 29th Dec? Got an email for upgrade to business for £824... not sure whether to do it or not?

It would help enormously if you include the route and not just the flight number. EF asks for the route and will then give you the availability on all flights for that day. One can filter on airline for a route but not just for a flight number.

Anyway, I found the routing so here you go:

Does not appear to be full / overbooked in Y (or any other cabin for that matter) at least at this stage.

Rufin Dec 27, 2017 2:55 pm

Thanks so much Thijsseh, really appreciate it and my apologies for omitting the route.
