Hey there, there are quite a few threads on here about the EK CD service.
Quick answers:
1. they don't always phone, but if it's confirmed they'll rock up
2. There'll be several drivers in suits in the arrivals halls with red Emirates welcome signs with names, yours will be one of them
3. You can update your booking with a local number if you get a local SIM, otherwise you could provide the hotel number, but generally they'll rock up

If you're nervous, use the numbers of the actual car operators at each location and call them the day before. I've had my CD canceled once (selected a destination that was too far) and they failed to reach me ahead of time. The rest of the time it has worked exactly as others have mentioned.

I always use a UK SIM so the local chauffeur company texts me with a request to phone them to confirm. Enjoy your flight.

Thank you, will make sure we have all the phone numbers with us.
We will have my daughters mobile and this is the number we have put on the bookings, so will keep a look our for any texts.
We are so looking forward to our flights, thank you all

I have used the chauffeur service many times in a few different countries.
Before departure of a trip I've always got a phone call. During a trip I have received, various types of confirmation methods. Sometimes SMS, sometimes a letter given to the hotel and sometimes a phone call.
They have never been late or forgotten about me. For the pick up to the airport they are usually 20-15 min early.

But worth it (IMHO) when you get there, particularly if this is your first time
If you see a stair lift, you're heading the right way.

At BKK you have to walk a bit from the exit from customs to the area with the CD driver contact - turn right when exiting and keep walking to door 5.
The signage is poor but that is, imho, deliberate on AoT's part (they control who gets to put what signs where and they also conveniently run a limousine service).
