Thanks for the replies.
Think I'll call Tristar and see if they'll do me a deal on the UK journeys (I'm a registered direct customer already) and wing it at Dubai end knowing theres a taxi rank at hand. |

Just as an interesting data point I got into DXB at 00:30 tonight and it was the busiest I’ve seen it in years.
The CD queue was backing into the terminal and they were giving first and IO cars out randomly to J. I ended up in a new BMW EK staff car with a great driver. |
Just about to start our trip and our car went to a different place with the same street name but street instead of road and were too far to fix mistake in time. We ended up having to scramble and find another car during rush hour.
Besides for providing feedback to Emirates after our trip, is there anything else we should do? Any other similar experiences from others before? Unfortunate start but looking forward to our first A380 experience! |

Unfortunate start but looking forward to our first A380 experience! The outstations I have travelled from (which does not include YYZ), have always contacted me the day before travel to confirm the pickup. In the UK it has been via text as well as email and there we have this really useful postcode system which is so accurate that an error as described by you would not occur. In other countries it has been by phone and I have always checked that they had the correct address and (assuming that you are aware of the 'street' vs 'road' confusion in your town, which is actually not all that uncommon) I would probably have stressed that risk of confusion. But if they did not contact you, all of that is moot. I think, in future, if you are not contacted by the end of the day before your departure, I would contact EK or the local provider (sometimes their phone number is on the confirmation in MMB), firstly to make sure the booking is still live and secondly to check the address. Hope you enjoyed the A380! |

Hope you enjoyed the A380! The contact person was not even the driver and had to put the driver on the speakerphone for me to figure out they went to road instead of street! A380 was great and it's almost time for us to head to our next destination. Haven't received an email or text from EK CD though in DXB. Sounds like I should call them the day before to confirm? When they show up, do they go to hotel front desk or should I go outside and look for a CD car around pick up time? Thanks again! |
Question on CD. Im flying RUH-DXB-MCO with a 20hr layover in Dubai. Im not going to use the airport hotel but would like to go home in dxb. I can’t book CD online for Dubai but will they accept it on the day if I ask? I realise I probably can’t get picked up the following day to go back to DXB (or can I?)

You need to call EK and explain that you want to use CD whilst in dubai for the 20 hours.... they will charge a small fee (i think it used to be about $15) which is the airport handling fee or something similar. This allows you to enter dubai officially as a stopover even though less than 24 hours, and then they will be able to book the CD. The CD option will even appear in manage my booking when youve paid the landing fee. I believe its related to this fee not being charged on connections. |

Is it expected to provide a tip? I am landing in DXB and headed to Raffles Palm Island, not sure what the protocol is with just one person and a carry-on bag in my car.

Chauffeur Drive in India
Had Chauffeur drive services resumed in India for Emirates J/F pax?
Also can you share your recent experience on this? Heard it was Not available for J/F pax departing from India in the past few weeks/months. I have a booking on JAN 11 with Emirates J, and it’s showing I do have Chauffeur drive option at Chennai. Thank You! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...8a53980c5.jpeg |

Im sure this has been answered a million times but i cant find it at the moment; does a First Flex Plus or Business Flex reward flight get chauffeur drive?
I know upgrades, and partner reward bookings no longer get it. |

After being missing for a few months, EK has leased new Mercedes Viano MPVs for Chauffeur-drive in DXB.
They can be requested through live chat / call center again. |
