Any recent experiences with CD being available for classic reward J tickets at JFK and DXB? Booked one yesterday and the page on emirates site shows available but when I click through to book it just loops back to manage reservation which doesn't have an option for CD. Wasn't sure if they pulled this for classic reward J tickets.

I believe CD is no longer available to reward ticket holders. You need to have at least paid cash for the J seat to qualify.

Do we have any insight on what's going to happen with Chauffeur Drive after the end of April?

Where? What are you referring to, re-starting CD at some destinations where it was stopped at the start of the pandemic? Rumour that it will be discontinued altogether? Question is a bit cryptic to say the least...

Have you noticed that MPV cars are completely gone from CD fleet in Dubai? We, family of 4, were flying out of DXB in July and I have requested MPV car but they sent 2 regular cars. However now on return trip to DXB I have booked myself a reward J ticket and booked wife with 2 kids for cash in J. I have again requested MPV car but it was promptly turned down, so I asked if they can get us 2 cars since we are essentially family of 4 travelling - they said no. As children are almost paying a full price ticket anyway, I am surprised that mother with 2 kids gets only 1 car allowance. It seems I have to go back to using Blacklane.

Flew with a colleague a few months ago and asked they just use one MPV to pick us up as we had a significant amount of luggage and leaving from the same place. Call center said they had been scrapped during pandemic. Sent us two J cars instead of F cars as the BMWs are wagons so more space for luggage. Perhaps they were used rarely / leases ran out / pandemic enhancement / etc. |

Can confirm this is the case.

Had a chat about exactly this with a CD driver when I asked why they couldn't send out an MPV despite call center taking a request for it. He said the lease was up and EK decided not to renew it as the cars were really old and had racked up a lot of miles.

Earlier this week, I had CD service in Frankfurt to the airport. Completed the feedback form sent by Emirates the following day and got a voucher to get 50USD/EUR/GBP off of my next Blacklane booking anywhere in the world. Itīs valid for one use before September 30.

I took a trip to ORD in July, unfortunately due to company policy my ticket was eligible for a limo but my wife and daughter were not ( they got the last two discounted J fares). In the past the service in ORD were very large cars so I thought maybe we could all just pile in. Before the flight though I was sent a specific email stating I was allowed only one guest and two bags. Obviously this wouldn't work for us so I booked another service and told them I would not be needing the ride. Shortly after I received an invoice for the extra miles I had travelled that were not included in my ride, I've been travelling this route once or twice a year for 8 years with the same drop off and pickup locations and never been charged. They tried to charge me for the extra miles on the return route also, despite it being cancelled, but I also received a $50 Blacklane voucher.

Hi everyone :) Does anyone have experience with CD + Infant in Germany? My wife and I are travelling with our 4 month old in F. We currently have booked just one car and asked for a bigger car with a "baby seat" via the hotline. Hope he got it right, as he wanted to book the CD with a child seat initially. Due to the covid safety measues seating in front is not an option if I read correctly, so it has to be a VAN to allow 2 adults + baby seat to travel safely.
Can and will Blacklane provide the required baby seat and car? In addition to that: We are entitled for Dubai Connect on our return flight. Are there baby seats available for the transfer DXB <=> Hotel? Knowing what to expect makes travelling with a baby much more relaxed ;-). Thanks for any information upfront! |
