I frequently book through them, even though the disclaimer says nonrefundable etc, they ALWAYS follow the actual fare rules. And the best part they charge 0 fees. I use the US, UK, NZ, and SG Expedia's and their treatment is fairly standard across the board.
I am referring specifically to trips on the route and in the class I mentioned. Only a misreading of what I wrote could lead to one thinking that I was referring to Expedia in general.

I am sure where I read "that bit" about Expedia. It was when I was comparing Expedia's price against emirates.com and checking cancellation and amendment conditions. Expedia clearly said no cancellation/no changes without forfeiting 100% of the fare paid. This is not the sort of detail I would get wrong.

By the way, in the UK at least, Emirates' does not charge fees.

I'm with you in regards to Expedia's rules, but read your post the same as edy4eva.

Your response was in poor grace and erroneous IMO.

Booking/payment card fees which the poster I was responding to mentioned. (He/she said Expedia didn't have any.)

Oh, for a minute I thought you meant things like change and refund fees and I thought I was being an idiot for having paid them for so long, haha!

I have booked countless tickets through expedias where they have this non refundable no change full forfeiture line on the final screen. I only ever book the exact fares that I am after (check them externally through EF/KVS). I was NEVER EVER told by expedia that a fare was non refundable/changeable when calling despite of the above.

So, how do you know which fare bucket the Expedia one comes from? Even airlines rarely go beyond, say, A or I to quote the full code before booking.

Why on earth would Expedia say a fare is non-refundable etc. when it isn't? It must lose it some business (mine, for example).

I would not take the risk. After all, if I wanted to cancel, Expedia could simply say the terms and conditions state no refund.

What someone says on the 'phone, unless you record it, is pretty useless as proof of anything.
