Messed up dates!

In a moment of temporary insanity I booked the wrong travel dates and only realised my error about an hour after booking.

Normally there is a change fee but has anyone heard of EK waiving this ex-gratia?

Particularly if the request is made immediately after the booking?

I made the booking with an American Express card. Is there something they might be able to do? Help!

Get on the phone ASAP. I have done this a few years ago with EK and called them in around 30 min. They changed it without a fee.

IF EK has said no, then there is nothing that American Express can do. there is nothing wrong with the purchase at that side

75. It is not the end of the world I suppose. And I know they have no obligation to do it. I was just hoping they would waive it using discretion, as I called up to explain the mistake less than an hour after booking

If you called within five minutes and they didn't change I'd think they were harsh but an hour? Plans can easily change in that time.

Do you have status with emirates?

Change fees annoy me especially when it's j to f and they want 200 pounds a ticket as they have to reissue them. You'd think they'd waive the fee but they don't....

With EK the phone agents have no discretion, nor does it appear as if the supervisors at the EK call center have it either. They follow their script and their rules and they are unbendable.

Quite a difference compared to the Western or Asian carriers and one of the few things that really annoys me about EK.
