Hi All,
Not sure if this belongs in the CD forum. Wanted to know if anyone has experience with CD in Dubai since the new rule went into effect regarding upgrades. I have STPC reserved but cant use CD because it's an upgrade. Is there a shuttle for Y passengers as they are not usually sent to Le Meridien. I know I could end up at the Copthorne but if im not?

Good question... this would also apply to Business Special fares.

The CD rules won't apply here, if you are entitled to a hotel then they will arrange transport for you be it in a CD vehicle or a shared bus.

thanks all!

Hello everybody (first post but long-time lurker, so also "hi" to the whole community),
In two weeks or so I will be flying via DXB with 15h night stopover. I'm booked in Business Saver class. Today in Manage My Reservation page I've spotted the Dubai Connect offer, which I promptly booked. It is all green, displaying quite confirming "collect voucher" info. The problem is, that my connection should not be eligible for DC, as there is an earlier flight (with 4h connection) available. I was prepared to book something cheap in Deira for the purpose of this stopover, however the DC option is tempting. The question is - will this DC invitation hold water when confronted with check-in agent armed with terms-and-conditions? How probable is that I'll in fact receive this voucher? |

The agents at the airport won't question the system or try to figure out if there is an earlier flight deeming you ineligible. Once you are checked-in, the hotel voucher will print along with the BPs. If you remain uneasy, book your designated property but on a cancellable rate as a backup. |

Hello everyone! I have a DC eligibility question: I flew WAW-DXB-BNE (Bus Saver) back in April this year and about a month before the flight spotted the Dubai Connect optionin manage my booking (wasn't listed when making the booking itself), which I promptly booked and ended up staying at the Meridian. Am not sure why DC was even offered, as there was an earlier connection inDXB available for my continuing BNE flight. I've currently booked the same route for November adn Dubai Connect is not available for the DXB-BNE segment - any ideas why it was available previously and not now? Thoughts?

Agreed... I've had this 'glitch' work in my favour also. The DC appeared on my booking after I'd made a change to another flight in the booking.
|
Thanks for that. Hope this 'glitch' also works in my favour. Will report back closer to my trip.

I am on an award ticket on Emirates F booked through Qantas. If I manage my reservation on the Qantas side, it gives me an option to add DC; but managing my booking on Emirates the option does not appear. I added DC through Qantas and then proceeded to email the itinerary to myself from the Emirates website and the itinerary shows the following:
Stopover City: Dubai Check in: 02 Sep 19 Check out: 03 Sep 19 Remarks: 3SEP STPC-FIRST AND BUSINESS ROOMS-1 Status: Confirmed I wonder how valid this DC is considering it was offered through Qantas and not Emirates website. |

Yes, it is valid. I have had this experience before booking through QF. Because your flight was booked through QF, QF essentially owns the booking, so most of the booking administration is done via them. You can only really adjust seats and meal preference on the EK side of the booking.
