Here's what I don't get though...
- Book SIN-MEL-SIN in April 2013 on QF (and fly on EK) - SGD$4591 for a Business Saver fare
- Book SIN-MEL-SIN on EK - SGD$3360 for a Business Flex fare
I used exactly the same dates for the search query...

You don't get that Qantas's fares are overpriced? They have been overpriced for a long while

I've just received the following mail, nothing new though...
It gives then this link
where you can find a PDF saying:
Dear Mr Gringuito,
Emirates and Qantas are coming together to form the world's leading airline partnership and we wanted you to be among the first to learn about the exciting new opportunities for Emirates Skywards members.
Following interim approval from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, you can now seamlessly book Emirates codeshare flights (marketed with an EK flight number) for international travel on Qantas from 31 March.
Domestic codeshare flights operated by Qantas, will be available for booking from 29 January 2013, giving you greater access than ever to Australia via our hub in Dubai.
With this partnership you can earn Emirates Skywards Miles on all Qantas international and connecting domestic flights and redeem them for any Emirates or Qantas flight.
Over the coming months we look forward to telling you more about benefits for Emirates Skywards members from this partnership; including lounge access, the world's largest shared fleet of Airbus A380s, and more options for redeeming flight awards.

You can book flights for cash but there doesnt seem to be any award availability.
Im from dusty old ADL and I want to go ADL-DUB-GLASGOW-DUB-ADL in June with my son in business instead of having to hub via sydney or melbourne, maybe they will release seats when some of the other stuff is sorted.

I am looking to book LHR-DXB-LHR in May and saw that you now have the option to pick a Qantas operated flight with an EK code on emirates.com, and was wondering (and this may seem like a silly question), if you fly on Qantas under an EK code in J or F will you still be entitled to the chauffeur service?

No surprise at all. In my experience, it is always the airline that operates the metal that has the cheapest fares on a direct route. Cannot think of an example where a codeshare airline had the cheapest rates. I have experienced that many times, also the other way round (where e.g. KE is the operating carrier and EK sells it under their flight number - tremendous fare difference).
