Another fare question
Hi
I am looking at booking a flight on the 23rd may to thailand and need Flex fares for both outbound and inbound flights.
I have looked at every possible fare on the internet from every airport and there is no flex fares, only savers.
I need 12000 miles and i can only get 9000 (outbound saver, inbound flex)
Phoned Emirates and i can book flights via the call centre and the price is 70 more than online, I have asked if the fares are Flex and she said, I think So, i have asked to double check and she said yes they are.
she told me that the Flex should also be on the web site, But told her no.
I guess the 70 might be worth booking Via the call center if i am doing 4 trips through out the year.
Has anyone else had the same problem and found away around the situation and booked on line.
finally, they used to give you extra miles for booking online, I think they have withdrawn that offer now.

You don't mention where you're flying out of. From your earlier posts and the 12,000 mile number, I'm guessing the UK.
Though there are no flex fares ex-LHR that I can see, they are available ex-CDG.
It may be a lot easier though to pay the fare difference to upgrade to a flex fare, if the conditions on changing fares are not very restrictive. Alternatively, try booking something with a return 6-8 months out. That probably won't be a saver. Then you'll still need to change the return date, however.

Just a up-date
I phoned to book the flights that where on hold, I spoke to another operator, Gave her the booking referance Number, she brought up the flights, I asked her to make sure that the tickets are flexable both ways and after 10 minutes on been on Hold, she said NO!!!!!
it is driving me crazy.

Again--go to a travel agent and have them do it. You will not get any answer directly from EK that will make any sense. They actually do have some saver fares that are more expensive than the flex fares from LHR-BKK-LHR believe it or not.

All booked up and ready to Fly with 12,000 tier miles and 18,000 miles. Only thing wrong, Emirates are not flying the A380 on the 24th from dubai, so back to a beoing 777.
I had to book via a travel agent and around 80 more to get flex, But i am sure that i will get good use out of my Gold.

Hi, I've followed these forums for a while but have decided to finally register and socialise
:-)
Anyway, in order for me to keep my EK silver status I need to fly 12,500 more miles by august, and as I am flying to SA for the world cup, I would usually have managed to do this, however, I decided to book through an agent provided I received written confirmation of the type of fare booked on emirates, saver or flex. I was guaranteed full miles on a flex fare ticket in wiriting, so far so good until my e-ticket was sent to me, upon checking the MMB, it shows that I will receive half the miles on one leg leaving me 2,000 miles off maintaining my silver status. I have been in contact with the agent for a week now, they keep promising me emirates will be sending me written conf that I will get full miles etc etc.... what is emirates' and travel agencies (general) policy on honouring the miles guaranteed to me after I have flown and it has not reflected correctly?
Thanks!!

If there is any document that states the fare is flex, I would use that to dispute a claim that it is saver. MMB can be incorrect.
