The best Pizza in the world comes from Australia!

While I think the best pizza I have ever had was in Napoli with Roma, New York and Sydney up there. Apparently the best pizza in the world is in Perth Western Australia!

I read this story yesterday and the interesting info for me was that the chef attended to top Italian pizza school and worked privately for the leader of the college, before setting up shop in Perth.

DiningBuzzers - have you found similar places around the world, where the proprietor/chef trained in Italy and set up somewhere outside of Italy?

I'd be particularly interested in locations around the world that combine an Italian (or Italy-trained) chef with the world's best dairy products.

[yes, that does mean NZ and Ireland but I'd appreciate other suggestions... these two places are already on my list... plus I'd need to know that the one in the OP is BYO ]

Pino's at Crows Nest is one pizzeria I guess the OP has tried.

For future reference, are there any award-winning pizza places in the US Midwest, using the very best US dairy products?

Per hobarthoney's OP, a place which has won a 'best pizza in the world' style of accolade - focusing on the freshest, finest ingredients?

Considering that this particular accolade was earned in Las Vegas,
the ingredients for the pizza in question might have been the freshest
or finest, but the possibility that they might have been freshest, finest,
and in Perth ... nil.

Not that "best pizza in the world" has much meaning. I doubt that the
pizzamakers whose products I've tasted in New Haven or Tuscany
(where the pizzalike things aren't called pizza as I recall) would go to
an exposition and compete.

I didn't check out that place when I went to Perth, but I am not sure I believe the fact that the best pizza is in Australia

I gotta admit too, the best pizza I have ever had (next to making my own) was in Australia as well. It was just off Bondi called Pompei's (right next to the Hurricane Grille). Absolutely yummy!!

Were you going to be in the Midwest for something or did you think the Midwest has dairy? I lived in the Midwest and I didn't see much commercial dairy. I'd have to say that milk in upstate NY is quite excellent so Ithaca, NY has ready use of it and NYC is within 5 hours of a lot of good dairy.

The Midwest US is home of 2 pizza styles: St Louis Style which is thin crust a la Imo's. Then Chicago has Chicago style which is thick crust and I think heavy on the sauce.

Neither is really known for prime ingredients. Especially not Imos!

ETA: I looked up dairy cows. Looks like Wisconsin and California have the most dairy cows followed by NY and Idaho so 1 midwest state has significant dairy cows.

that is a very limited, far too general view IMO, what about stuffed, pan v thick crust, etc. There a few places mentioned in the following thread and many more that are not, that don't fall into either style you mention.
