esp when they last for years (now on year 12 for our toaster oven, which is loved and used on average bi/daily).
I just can’t fathom a $1000 toaster oven because there’s not much tech improvement for an oven. At least a fridge can dispense water and make round cubes.

Bought a toaster oven for my rental property guest house 10 years ago and it's still going - but that's probably because I have used it only once and thought it was a ridiculous gadget and I don't think the renters have ever used it. I can't see the point. It's useless as a toaster and useless as an oven.

I gave up on the idea for now. Most of what I want to do - which usually involves using the broiler to brown things - requires cookware such as corningware, porcelain, and stoneware which all apparently is not safe to use in a toaster oven for some reason. So really it is going to be pretty useless.
